You could have almost predicted this to happen the day she got involved with Bobby Brown. I have been missing Whitney Houston for about 10 or 12 years now.
Cuseroc... Unfortunately you're spot on. Just sad.
ChrisLords... I have no idea brother.
For me this is just so unfortunate and sad. Its like all of my childhood idols are passing away way too early; Nate Dog, Eazy E, 2Pac, Biggie, Big Pun, Michael Jackson, Aaliyah, and now Whitney Houston. I'm sure I missed some of them as well.
Aaliyah was sad and I'm giving Whitney the benefit of the doubt here and reserving judgment. My 14 year old cousin nearly died from an anurism so **** can happen out of the blue.
As a radio dj, music is kinda my thing. People often forget how huge she was in the 90's too... her string of #1's nd rocket to stardom was definitely an 80's moment, but it rolled right into the 90's, during that record setting run of hits, she had that Super Bowl national anthem success in '91, followed the run staring in "The Bodyguard" in 1994. She was a movie star then was in "Waiting to Exhale" and then "The Preachers Wife" in 96 and 97, and then "Cinderella" in 1998...
Clive got her back in the studio for "My Love is You Love" which hit #1 in 1998, then they released her "Greatest Hits" and a dance remix version that shot to #1 in 2000. Her latest album in '09 "I Look To You" went to #1, produced two hits in the US, though neither single approached #1, it was a much bigger success in Europe and Asia.
It was that gap between 2000 and 2006 when she was tabloid fervor that ruined her! However, I genuinely think people wanted her to be successful, she'd just damaged her voice and never took the time off to recover or get it fixed.
Police are saying she drowned in her tub... no signs of illegal drug use or overdose... autopsy will show if she bumped her head, had a heart attack, or if the xanax her mother and daughter gave her the night before when she couldn't sleep, caused her to dose off while in the tub and basically drown in relaxation... her teenage daughter has apparently been in and out of the hospital since for exhaustion and dehydration -- just completely distraught. Could you imagine the pain or guilt, if the sleeping pill you encouraged a love one to take to relax and get sleep possibly led to their death?
Thanks for posting. So sad. What a mess Whitneys life turned out to be. Sometimes a person may wish for fame and fortune but you also have to be able to handle it, which poor Whitney Houston obviously could not.
