RE: WVU, Big East reach conditional settlement
What arrogance. Not long ago they were hoping to latch onto the Big East if the B12 imploded and we UC fans were arguing the merits of adding these schools (K State, Kansas, TT, ISU) because of their insignificant TV markets. Criticism of us based on stadium size is a complete non-starter. If UC needs PBS a deal will get done; Hamilton County needs revenue. And UC winds up with a stadium larger than those B12 bottom feeders.

Iowa State like a bunch of schools have been grandfathered in to the big boys club. Second, I don't buy that Cincinnati is heading to the Big 12 or is team number 12. I like the new Big East and want nothing to do with a rural conference located in the heartland.

I would rather see the University of Cincinnati compete in cities like Houston, Dallas, Orlando, Tampa, Memphis, Hartford, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Washington D.C than in Waco, Lubbock, Ames, Norman, and the other middle of no-where towns. The Bearcats best fit has always been a metro conference.

Absolutely. Why the hell would we want to go from being semi significant to being another practice squad for Oklahoma, Texas and OK St. Basketball would also be a step back IMO. The Big East has the teams I want to see the Bearcats playing.

Nobody answered me in the other thread, but I really am interested in people's opinions on this question: How many Big 12 championships will WVU win in 10 years? I say zero, I'll be surprised if they finish in the top 3 within 5 years.

WVU has more than a punchers chance considering Holgs coached in the Big 12 for a while and knows those teams pretty well.

I think WVU will be fine in the Big XII. Of the current Big East teams, they always performed well against the bigger competition.

the sooner that West Virginia leaves the Big East , the better. We don't need their cowardly butts in the conference anymore. Play teams that want to be in it.

IT MAY not affect the west virginia fans watching road games on central time. 3/4 OF THE state doesn't work so they should be fine. They can sleep in until noon and have time for removing rims off of the cars in their front yards. No prob.

Iowa St.? I honestly don't know anything about them since they have been irrelevant for as long as I can remember. Quick glance at the recruiting rankings...UC 30th, Iowa St. 74th, one spot ahead of Miami Oh! Lot of good that "tradition" is doing for them.

As for WVU, I think they will be in the mix in the Big 12 but they won't win it. As soon as Texas fires the football version of Billy Gillespie they will dominate.

The hillbilly jokes is pretty much the only thing I will miss about WVU in the Big East.

Here are a couple pictures that will sum up Iowa State's sports tradition:

I knew they had a controversy recently, but couldn't even remember what that was because it is only Iowa Freaking State!!!
