Dragonman is a very legit, no, extremely legit Blazer fan. Bigtime. I've seen him at every sort of sporting event we offer, and I'm sure he's been to plenty I've never attended.

Let's put it this way - tonight he told me that the home opener for the UAB sand volleyball team was going to be Sat. March 3rd at 1, at their new courts by West Campus Field. We'll be taking on Florida State.

Sure as hell would not have known it if he hadn't told me.

The little guy in the white jacket that monitors those courtside seats hadn't had anything to say to us all season, now all of a sudden, he's badgering us about "toning it down". Please! I don't have the testicular fortitude of Smaug to say some of the things he's said to officials on the sidelines within arm's reach, he's a Rembrandt when it comes to heckling. Me? I'll exclaim a displeasure now and then, but I get along pretty well with the officials that do the Women's games, they're actually quite friendly, conversational and even laugh at our antics, I oftent tell them in passing "good call" even if at times the call goes against the Blazers.

I know that Coach Smith and her team appreciates the encouragement (and occasional instruction) from that spot on the court, even some of the players from opposing teams appreciated our presence, they want things to remember in their games that are favorable and at times, humourous, I can almost guarantee you that at least one of the visiting teams has gone back to their respective campus and told their friends about "those crazy guys sitting at courtside" during their game at Bartow... So as long we're not on the floor throwing things, threatening players or obstructing officials, the little security guy can go play "Frogger" on I-459 blindfolded, far as I'm concerned.
