So true.. same could be said with quite a few guys here in the last five years. Patton just seemed to kill any confidence Storm, Hall and a few others may have ever had. Storm and Hall I thought were the most negatively effected, but I'm sure there were other guys who had the same issues that just weren't as easy to notice from the stands.

No one will EVER know what some of these young men have been through these past few years....including my son. It was absolutely Horrible with regard to their confidence being shattered on a daily basis and the negative environment/atmosphere that they were subjected to. It truly affected quite a few of them mentally and they definitely did not sign up for what they "unfortunately" received!!!

Powerful stuff, thanks for sharing. He put the program back 3 or 4 years. Thank God that is over.

Who was the NIU player that blew a dunk with around 15 seconds left? Miami was getting ready to foul us then this guy goes in for shot and misses! We could of lost the game with this stupid play.

The best postgame show was coach Monty running to the students behind the basket (looked like a fraternity) and celebrating and then the players ran over and did the same thing.
I always bitched that Judson and Patton were too aloof and did not make an effort to get the students involved..coach Monty gets it
Let's see more students come out to support this team next year

01-wingedeagle What?

Miami was not gonna give up a layup so Bolin took it up strong, just as he should have. Guarantee ya that's what Monty wanted.

Ref blew the call; Bolin was fouled!

I dont think you can say that about Judson. He spent a lot of time going dorm to dorm trying to get students involved.

RE: Niu vs Miami O game
Was so happy for the Huskies and in particular Storm. I wish I would have been able to make the trip last night but commitments early this morning made that option too unattractive. I enjoyed the stream however! I've always felt that after watching him his freshmen year that he had the potential to be a good MAC player. He had a couple games similar to this back then. I don't know what went on that has been talked about with the previous staff and I know he has had injuries the past 3 years, but I hope he can finish strong. This kid stuck out being a Huskie during the toughest of times and I'm proud to support him. I'll make sure I'm there for Sr. Night and will be standing for him. (I'm assuming this will be the last home game Wed. the 29th? Leap year!)

Nice to see Tyler Storm have a good game. He just needs a chance. I know he is a senior but his leadership could be invaluable. We need to win a few more games. Good for teams confidence. If he, Nixon and Bolin can score, Nadar will be better off. I am sure he has the pressure to carry this team offensively.

I agree Judson gave effort, he just didn't win enough consistently to keep them coming back.

I saw that line. Does this make Storm an honorary Norwegian? Or does he need to first dine on lutefisk?

I have always found him easy to root for, and easy to feel for when things weren't going well. He has always been one of the biggest cheerleaders on the bench even when he was hurt or not playing, it seems all his teammates cheer for him too. Every team needs guys like that, and if they can play that's even better! If healthy enough and given the chance, he can play. If you look at his playing experience or minutes over the years, he is probably a young junior. Thanks to Patton and injuries, we missed out on watching this kid develop.

Again - I will be standing and applauding him on Sr. Night. He is the type of Huskie we can be proud of. Apparently making it to Sr. Night here has not been an easy task for players from that class! Dinunno, Hall, Smith, Toler (transfer in), and even Fisher (would have been a 5th year sr.).

We have gone over this before. Patton put his eggs in the Colorado castoffs. He hoped to gain momentum with them and build on it. It didnt work.

We were all on 10 for Storm last nite....Tony was so happy for him that he could not stop talking about it and cheering him on during the game. Those two young men have survived the worst and still continue to support each other on a daily basis. When Tyler came up from the post-game talk, we all cheered for him BIG TIME!!!

Tyler Storm and Tony Nixon are both class acts. Too bad our last coach wasn't.

Bone-chilling temperatures, lots of snow, people walking around in silly fur hats, scantily clad young blondes strutting around campus, easy availability of kippers and sardines.....I can sure see the similarities!
