I believe the total is still 20, but the Big XII would cover about 9 of it themselves, leaving WVU to foot 11, which is why you're seeing that number now.

Boise needs a definite landing place for their Olympic sports as well. Not sure how that will factor in.

Makes sense, thanks Mark

******* hate you, Oliver Luck.

I'd call this good news. Replace the toughest game on UC's schedule with a very winnable game and get $20M in the process. Sounds like a win-win to me.

I agree with this. WVU is probably one of the only teams in this league standing in our way of a conference championship if we get good quarterback play.

Looks like Boise may be back on the table for 2012. The Big East may be shipping the Mountaineers money straight to the Mountain West.

http://brett-mcmurphy.blogs.cbssports.co...2/34773204

Boise State has had discussions with the Western Athletic Conference to determine if its Olympic sports teams could join the WAC in 2012 in case the Broncos’ football program joins the Big East this fall, sources told CBSSports.com.

“The Big East has been pushing them ‘quietly’ to join for 2012,” a source said. “The WAC has had to rearrange lots of [its Olympic sports] schedules [in anticipation of the possible move].” (cont'd)
Two other sources told CBSSports.com they believe Boise State will play in the Big East in 2012.

Let's make this interesting. How many Big 12 championships will WVU have in the next 10 years. I'll start with the over/under at 1. And I will take the under.

I could care less about playing a good WVU team next year. Dropping the Mountaineers from the schedule means that Cincinnati is not only scrambling to fill an 11th spot on their schedule but a 12th or we may be looking at a ridiculous home-and-home game with one of the current Big East teams. Hopefully Boise State or Memphis or one of the other future Big East teams join for this season but that's still a work in progress and nothing has been finalized yet.
