Offensive Coordinator (Expectations of PJ)
It has been a great time to be a Huskie Fan as of late and I love PJ as much as the next guy (well maybe not as much as 7), but what do we "objectively" think of his ability to be a successful OC next year?

Emphasis on next year...I have no doubt he will be a great coach in the future, but PJ is replacing a seasoned and extremely experienced OC in Matt Canada. As far as I know, PJ has not called a single offensive play on any level. Should we be concerned? Couple PJ's inexperience with DD's defensive background and we are very green next year in regards to offensive game planning.

Thoughts?

RE: Offensive Coordinator (Expectations of PJ)
I think that PJ is well prepared and that he will do an outstanding job right away. Two big unknowns for next year

1) The O line
2) The QB

Based on Lynch's performance last year I am more concerned about 1 than 2 above. If the O line plays well I think that we have enough skill players to have a good offense.

RE: Offensive Coordinator (Expectations of PJ)
There's a definite chance at some growing pains for PJ, given his limited experience coaching spread and this being his first time running an offense. But it's not like he's working with a staff of rookies. Cole's been an OC, Uremovich was a HC, Carey is the running game coordinator.

I also think there are few things in football more over-valued in fan eyes than playcalling. The standard second-guessing formula is pretty predictable: "That play no work! BLARGH!"

Like all coaches, he will live and die based on execution. If he calls a pretty standard game (there's nothing new under sun), and the OL blocks and Lynch hits open guys, all will be well.

We should expect some growing pains, especially with getting plays in on time. With all of the substitutions these days that has to take awhile to get the hang of.

I think PJ will hit the ground running (so to speak) and things will run smoothly. Just my opinion.

One question, though. I'm assuming he'll be in the pressbox calling plays. I wonder how hard it's gonna be for PJ to be away from the sideline! I think he's way more comfortable there.

I expect that he'll decide he's "not ready to be an OC." :)

I just dont think the offensive line is a concern for next year, just keep Lynch healthy is the key.

If he doesn't have another gig, then I expect he will be looking for a psychiatrist.
