For BGSU...I think our JUCO players will step in and help immediately...they are:

OL David Kekuewa...the Chief!! Already one fo the strongest guy on the team
S Josh Pettus..Mizzou offer. Great open field tackler
WR Michael Allen...origanlly a San Diego State commit..flls the void left by Binky Cooper's graduation

WR Jeron Stokes and RB Andre Givens are xfers/prep enrollees that could have a huge impact. Andre Givens HS footage is scary good.

True freshman LB Coy Brown (in for spring), S James Sanford, CB Will Watson (a 6-1 corner) , LB Erick Hallmon, DT Mike Minns and PK Anthony Farinella (46 touchbacks as a HS Sr) will be in the mix. I think Minns and Farinella have the best shot of playing early...we desperately need a guy who can KO deeper than the 10 yd line and Farinella can really boom it. Mike Minns is already "college strong"...his max bench is 405lbs..and at 6-0 and 300lbs, he's going to be tough to block as he starts each snap at a lower pad level.

If we have a sleeper in this class I think it's DT Izaah Lunsford. Not a guy that was heavily recruited at all...but he shows excellent quickness as a HS DE...if he can hang 20-30 lbs on his frame without sacrificing quickness...he could be a monster in the MAC.

Someday...this class might be known for the group of HS OL we signed...but I hate trying to project those guys when they probably won't sniff the field for two years.

I heard an interview with someone was was a scout or former D-I coach or something and his conclusion is that the rating services have BIG TIME problems rating linemen.

It is much easier to evaluate a skill position player. QBs are hard to evaluate even though that sounds counter intuitive.

That's a very good point. Many of the guys you are looking at their film they sent you and not seeing them in practices. It can be much harder to properly see their footwork and technique on film, because they are not in space so much like skilled players are. Also, some guys are going up against kids that are nowhere near as muscular and physical in that film. At least with the skilled players you get an idea of how well they run their routes, make cut-backs, find the open hole, etc.

RE: Where does each MAC team stand on FB recruiting?
I'll take a stab at Toledo's Top 10 recruits:

RB Damion Jones-Moore (only a 2 star on Rivals and 3 star on Scout, but the kid has speed and a lot of talent)
WR Corey Jones (Rivals 3 star/Scout 4 star)
LB Jaylen Coleman (Rivals 3 star/Scout 3 star)
DL Allen Covington (Rivals 3 star/Scout 2 star)
DB Cameron Cole (Rivals 3 star/Scout 2 star, JUCO with I believe 3 years of eligibility)
WR Danny Larkins (Rivals 3 star/Scout 3 star)
DL Chris Collins (Rivals 2 star/Scout 2 star)
RB Jody Webb (Rivals 2 star/Scout 2 star)
DT Treyvon Hester (Rivals 3 star/Scout 3 star)
OL Paul Perschon (Rivals 2 star/Scout 2 star)

Notice how I listed several 2 star prospects above 3 star prospects. That's part of why people complain about recruiting rankings and the star system.........people have different opinions on their evaluations of players.

and this is why those camps that the teams have are so important.

What could be better then having a large number of linemen at a camp where they can be compared head to head.
