Don't know if you guys are awhere of this but Lance did play by play for Notre Dame from 88-92 and also did fill-in play by play for Depaul basketball from 94-96. Sounds like he has the credentials.

I guess I shouldn't just say you, but it sure seems like if people don't have something to complain about on this board, they aren't happy. It seems I am the only one bothered by this? UC is 14-1, ranked 13th in the country, but I come here and read about 9 negative topics and 1 positive topic...

I don't think you should come across as a slobbering homer. I think you should come across as a sharp professional with an extremely high level of knowledge about the program (past and present). I think Lance would be great - BTW

Look at it this way, how many people on this board know more about the past and present of this basketball program? I would say most of us!

If you were a leading candidate for the job to cover another schools basketball announcing, lets say Dayton. Wouldn't you spend a tremendous amount of time digging into the history of the program and the facts surrounding their current state? I know I would. Why cut the guy slack? We can all do it and none of us are getting paid to do it, why can't he?

When I interview people one of the things I am most interested to find out is how much effort and research they put in to deeply understand both the position and the company. I can't tell you how many times I have bounced a talented candidate because they just didn't put in the effort to do anything beyond superficial reasearch. Its not that hard and it says volumes about your commitment level.

If I were the producer at 19, I would tell Piecoro to get to know the program ASAP or find a new gig next season.

BTW - Lance knows UC, I think he would be excellent with Anthony.

It's amazing how high the bar has been set for the announcer job for UC games. We have really been quite fortunate over the years to have had both Thom Brennaman and Paul Kiels as our announcers. We need to find someone new to the scene that has those kind of pipes...forget all of those other folks.

I guess it is just me (maybe I'm the complainer), but Paul Kiels is not my favorite either :). Every Ohio State fan I know would be more than happy to give UC back Paul Kiels.

Thanks for clearing that up MLB. I heard it during the game and asked if anybody else knew exactly what he said, but I don't think anyone else caught it.

two guys that have good chemistry.

one guy has all four,

I think Lance would be great, he knows UC and gets excited about it, and I think Buford would love a guy that actually knows what he is talking about.

I can't believe the Lance fan's in this post, after the sh@t he has taken on this site (and CUSATALK). Supposedly he is a Xavier backer, belittles UC, loves UK, etc. etc. I'm glad more people are coming around to realize he isn't the bad guy when it comes to UC exposier locally, he does his best to get UC and everybody else some air time. The Two Angry Guys on the other hand... talk about a show that spins everything in UKs favor and against UC...

I really don't see what's wrong with Lance, I was on Cusa-talk when he acted childish, but he came back and apoligized. He advocated people to go to Cusa-talk on the air, and now he links to this site from his website.

Sometimes his content gets on my nerves. I don't care about primetime television. And his off the beaten topics don't always peak my attention. But he has good guests and he generally tries to give all sides of the story a voice; he doesn't just hang up on callers because he doesn't like what they have to say.

I don't listen to Lance much, but when i do 99% of the time he is supportive of the UC program and what they do. Like the day after "THe Season", Lance was praising the UC players and Huggs and asked any recruit why would you not go to UC.
