Our only "surprise" so far is the decommitment of RB Darius Norfleet, who was our best commit in terms of stars and ended up choosing Michigan - however, people said from the start that his commitment was as soft as it gets, and allegedly the coaching staff wasn't even treating him as a commitment. Plus, the Caleb Stacey commitment (he originally went with Michigan) takes all the sting away, especially when considering that RB is probably our deepest position on offense.

UConn lost a player to Memphis today...likely due to academics, I've heard. We are still waiting on two more players.

We also lost Montrell Dobbs, a 4 star RB who really wanted to go to UCONN but his academics did not qualify. It sucks but those are the breaks. One of the main complaints Edsall had was UCONN's academic requirements for FB players.

Overall, Louisville fans are very pleased with this year's class. The only surprises were not so surprising, since it already looked like their commitments were wavering: One of them went elsewhere because it looked like we were already too deep at that position, and there was a pleasant surprise to replace the unpleasant surprise of losing the other one.

How do other fan bases feel about their classes? Rutgers and Houston looked especially good to me.

RE: Signing Day Thread
I will say this about recruiting classes though, most of the recruiting rankings don't mean jack on the field. We will know in 2-3 years whether this year's class is a success. UCONN always had one of the lowest ranked BE classes recruiting wise, but play on the field we more than hold our own. From this past year's graduating class, 4 potential players could end up in the NFL including Kendall Reyes who might go 1st or 2nd round. All the kids were former 2 star recruits.

Coach P did went head to head with number of BCS programs in the NE. He won some and he lost some. We will see how he does after a year back in the recruiting game.
