NIU signed 31 kids and PJ Fleck is back as OC!

Charlie Miller was last LOI to come in spurning offers from Minnesota, Wake Forest, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, UCF and Iowa State.

From all accounts, those in the know said that Toldeo followed by Temple.

Just making a little joke on how people here go nuts when Temple signes 25 kids or more...yet two MAC teams did the exact same thing...

Darryl Goldsmith, Detroit DT, didn't sign with the Flashes???

No. KSU is reporting that every one of their 24 targets signed, with none defecting to other schools. Goldsmith is not one of those 24. I guess he is available.

Looks like 24 at Mass. 3 are postgrads who are already enrolled. Does anybody know if those are typically counted against the previous year's limit of 25 or the upcoming year's? I know we don't have 85 total, it's just a question of whether we have 1 or 4 more spots left for new counters this year.

So how does NIU make 31 equal 25 initials? Were 6 signed in December and count towards last year or will some gray shirt and not end up on campus?

Probably the same way that Toledo does.

Please explain further. Toledo signed 27 players. One was in December and counts towards the 2011 class. That leaves 26 signed players with 25 initials. I think one will actually be a gray shirt.

That is a lot different than signing 31 guys. I asked a question because I don't know the answer and was hoping for a real answer instead of a smart-arse remark.

RE: Team-By-Team Signing Day Activities
Just looked at your link. ESPN is clueless. They have four guys listed that are preferred walk-on's for Toledo. They are not scholarship players and don't count against the 25 initials (which are 25 scholarships). ESPN really needs to start doing more research.

Wow, BG really cleaned up...in IL and IN! There were some nice finds in there, and a couple of reaches.

RE: Team-By-Team Signing Day Activities
ESPN figures if they are close that no one will catch the mistakes. They say "Wow, we're really good at sports analysis because we even do recruiting write ups on small MAC schools like Toledo". When really their attitude should be to get 100% accuracy on all stories that they do, even the midmajor and nonAQ schools. They probably had what 500 people look up Toledo's recruiting class on ESPN. 200? Teams like OSU get 100k+ hits. They could care less about the MAC 03-banghead
