I was talking to Andy today at Strauss Tobacco about UC Football. He said that the lack of media coverage flows from local interest or lack thereof. It makes sense that until we start selling out games and they become a hot ticket that we won't have the media coverage that other BE schools have.

Also, he said that when he did the Dantonio call-in show at the Montgomery Inn that there were many times where he had maybe 2 calls. He said the most calls he's ever got about UC football were after Minter got fired.

So we need to do things like call into radio shows so that we're not just saying it but doing it. I think the move next year along with greater interest in football recruiting with the final official list of committed recruits who are signed will really benefit us. Until then a verbal is just that....as we well know with Jamar Butler.

Tell him to bring me on to solve the world's problems with him, like we discussed on the air after Minter was fired :)

I work downtown at a copying company and I see Andy Furman basically everyday and a Tobacco place, Strauss or something. Anyway, the guy is so freaking antsy and paranoid. I said hi to him and he looked like he was ready to jump over a few cars and run down the street screaming. He's always smoking a cigar and reading a paper when I go by. And, one day, I was on a corner store across the street from Fountain Square and Andy Furman was in there actually like a ******* hitting on one of the female cashiers or something.

Furman is a clown. A guy who knows exactly nothing about sports. If Mr. Obvious really cared about helping local sports; he should include UC football stories on his program. The media has its ability to create interest by getting the word out. Of course Andy is oblivious to logic, reasoning and common sense.
