Wow - that is embarrassing. You would think that players that need to earn time on the court would be doing everything off the court to prove their worth. And you wonder why coaches revoke scholarships.

If someone pays him $100k, then the world economy is more messed up than I thought. If the USBL was still around, he wouldn't make a team. However, if you've got a company team, he'd take some shots for you.......of course, then you'd have to hire him to work..

Remember, it's going to take 3 years to get a team to play Preston's style of play. Saying that, I really thought they'd put up a little more fight than they have...not enough hustle out of the older players and that's the most irritating part of it.
Here's hoping that they play inspired on Saturday night....might bring some old tomatoes and cabbage to throw just in case - LOL.

$0. Nada. Zilch. He's not good enough to play in Europe. At least not a competitive league. Maybe a company would pay him a salary to work there and play at night for their company team though.

Don't get me wrong, you're absolutely correct about being worn down due to lack of depth. Saying that, it's not like you have teams that send in waves of back up players. Typical rotation is 7 guys, maybe 8, maybe. Saying that, it does help. What I'm talking about, though, is they play like they don't truly believe in one another. Or, maybe, that they believe a little too much in themselves, individually, is a better way to put it?

There's no fire in the belly when I've seen them play. Wonder if Bill Laimbeer has any elgibility?!? Or is that too old school?!? Lol. Kenyon Martin would be a good addition.....

RE: Myles Hamilton
I'll give you that he Spencer could play in the ABA due to this: "but unlike the original ABA, it does not feature players of the same caliber as the NBA, nor does it play games in major arenas nor on television as the original ABA did." ---- which is on their site.

Overseas' teams have a limit on the amount of American players they can have on their rosters. He does not have enough talent to take one of these spots. They are usually for the likes of Dante Calabria (former starter @ UNC).

I think Terence plays in South America somewhere and there's another guy that says he plays in France, but at a lower level league. So, my point is simply that it's not as easy as you might have been led to believe. I'm not saying he has no talent, it's not a knock on him at all. But there have been much better players at KSU that didn't play overseas or anywhere professionally.

RE: Myles Hamilton
The guys you mentioned must own the teams they play on....saying that, I can't believe that Laettner actually goes out there and plays with those guys. I'd have to see it.

I promise not to argue vs. your Nostradamus-like prognositications......he may be part of the Atlanta "Experience" after all is said and done.

As for Dixon, he might be able to find somewhere to play depending on how much he liked the idea of playing in Turkey, Israel, or Columbia. There are a lot of "leagues" around the globe, but there is plenty of downside. Like not getting paid if you have a bad game, for instance. Or playing on a court with a chain link fence around it so the fans can't come on the court and hit you.....or worse.

It sounds good, but not really as glamorous as some try to make it. Lol

Not Preston's fault at all. All the violations from the Ingle camp, caused a couple scholarships to be taken away, then throw in the fact we had a couple idiots who decided to screw their team over for the season. I have a good feeling about Preston. I like what he's trying to do and his recruiting is already way better then Ingle's...at least on paper. Preston was already starting in the hole with a couple lost scholarships, then two of his starters make dumb decisions in Green and Robinson and get kicked off the team.

The starters have to play 35 min a game, because of this. I dont know if you've ever played ball, but playing that much so often kills your legs, along with having practice every day.

Exactly, and these guys have work to do beyond the court. Plus they don't have access to top of the line treatments and such. I mean does Kennesaw even have hot tubs to soak in? lol. I would be willing to bet that most A-Sun 9th-10th men would get 25 minutes per game in our rotation.

if Mirza can get 25 min a game, you know were in trouble. It sucks because really we have a pretty good starting lineup. Cummings, Anderson, Love, is as good of a trio as any in our conference.

At least Ingle gave us Anderson. I think he's the only guy that Coach Preston would of tried to go after outside of Cummings if he was doing the recruiting over the past few years.

But with Myles Hamilton coming along with Yonel Brown, i'm pretty excited for our future. I dont think we've ever had depth at the pg position since we were d2.

Markeith was playing football. And he was a damn good football player. I'm thinking bball recruiters thought he was going to play football. Also he did go to prep school, so maybe he wasnt making very good grades as well.

As good as he is at basketball, he may of chosen the wrong sport. The guy is seriously jacked and built like an NFL linebacker.

RE: Myles Hamilton
Couple/3 quick points:
1) I am in no way blaming this on Preston. I like him a lot. My point was that it would take 3 years to get his type of players playing the way, and to the level of success, that he expects.
2) I have played ball, so I know exactly what these guys are going through. My point is that you're going to have "off" nights, or a few, when playing this much. You have play as, and lean on, each other as a team. Develop a toughness. When you're legs go and your offense suffers, defense has to be the consistent. And defense starts with your head (as in being tougher than your opponent).
3) They've got hot tubs - lol.

I'm not trying to be negative, but I will be critical. They've got some talent, they are in a tough spot, but too often I've seen players going through the motions. Again, I'm not blaming this on Preston. He pulls guys out when it happens, it's just a shame that you can't respect your coach, your teammates, and yourself enough to put it all out there on game night. There's still a month to go, so maybe the light bulb will switch on come Saturday.

I know you werent. Maybe my post came off like i thought you were. You make valid points. but really this team is 6 deep...and the 6th man wouldnt be a 6th man for any team in our conference. I think Love, Anderson, and Cummings show plenty of heart and work their tail off. BUT i cant say the same about Mr. Dixon. And thats where your points come in. The pg of the team needs to be the leader, and i just dont see that with him. Not sure what happened to the unselfish nice Spencer Dixon i saw as a freshman, but honestly since his junior year, its like he's a different person all together. Anyone remember when his arms werent covered by tatoos?

You're dead on right, only being 6 deep. I agree with your earlier post that this mess was left for Preston. As for the work done off the court, I won't make any excuses for that. Every kid in college has something going on besides academics. Some self inflicted and some not. Playing sports forces you to discipline yourself. Well, it should theoretically. Lol.

Saying all that, I'm hoping for an old school Pistons type of effort.....and I hated the Pistons, but you didn't win easy in their gym. Lol

I don't normally respond on this board, but I noticed that a couple of you seem intent on bashing Spencer. Before you started bashing him you probably need to check your facts. First of all if the stats are correct, he leads the team in assists 16 of them over the last 3 games ( I guess this is what you call selfish), he leads the team in steals and is second on the team in scoring. If he plays in the remaining games he will set the record for most games ever played at KSU. If you pay attention during the the games you will notice that Delbert plays the point guard and Spencer the off guard, also take note of the fact that Spencer always guards the opposing teams best shooter at the guard position. He also leads the team in FT %. A lot of the times he has no choice but to shoot the ball because the shot clock is running down. He, Delbert and Markeith lead the team in minutes played. And speaking of post play why hasn't Preston developed some post moves with our post players. Didn't he play in the post in college and overseas.Regarding tattos their are other players on our team that have them but I guess you overlooked that fact. That's the reason that I don't make it a habit of reading these boards because obviously you don't check your facts before opening your mouth and evidently you don't have much of a life because you seem to spend all of your time on the boards. Remember we have all made mistakes and none of us are perfect. Hopefully we can get a few wins before the season is over. Also I don't think that he has ever missed a game due to injury, disiplinary reason etc during his career.

"Success" got to his head I guess. He has no respect for his professors so I can't imagine he'd have respect for his coaches or teammates.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but right before his Junior Year is when Shuan Stegall passed away, and he and Spencer were pretty close. Combine that with a lot of losing, and a coaching change and there is some reason for any attitude change that might have occurred. I am not taking either side of this, but just saying that the kid has had some pretty significant changes the past two years. It should not be surprising if he has changed.

It very well could have a lot to do with it. He was a very different player his freshman and sophmore years. He was more of a point guard, and from what i saw a better team player. I'm hard on the guy now, but more because i think he could be a better player then he is. Talent is there. Its a very telling sign when your starting senior pg who's suited up and started for just about every game his entire college career, isnt named one of the captains.

@ baller8: I agree with you on this: "Hopefully we can get a few wins before the season is over."

My comments are specifically about the level of team intensity. It's not just Spencer. There could be a million reasons for his up and down play. Not the least of which is the amount of minutes he's played. I want to see a mean streak, a battle, a determination. I've seen it in spurts, but not for an entire game or, even, most of a game. It's a team game, so you can't blame one player or another OR give too much credit to one player or another.

We knew it would be a tough season, so just have to keep it realistic.....we've got a month left. Here's hoping they finish strong.

RE: Myles Hamilton
I think their may have been some conflict near the end of Ingle's coaching time between Markeith/Ladaris and the rest of the team. When you are a team battling for every win you can't afford disunity. I think it is definitely telling that Spencer was not named a team captain. I also think it is close to accurate that there are some unity problems on this team (now and in the past). Of course if we were winning 25 games a year most of those problems would dissipate.
