Congrats on having an opinion, its mean you are human. But your argument is very weak, which makes debating it pointless

What's your end game here WIS11? You've posted 32 times and all 32 have been anti-Novak. Is this some kind of performance art piece you are doing? Are you some kind of troll looking for a rise? Where you one of the band members the football team ran over in 2001? I want to get to know you better, I want to know what makes you tick... besides this weird anti-Novak thing.

Kill, who doesn't have a hatred.
Patton, yeah him too.
Judson, yeah, I am okay with not liking him.
Corso? Yep, he's a corporate schill.
But Novak? C'mon, you have no facts and less of an understanding of NIU football than my EIU attending sister.

I wish to spread the truth about Joe Novak. He took a 3-8 team and 9 years later they were 2-10. His overal record was 46-60. Quit telling me he was a good coach. He was a good recruiter as evidenced by th fact that the coaches that followed him were successful with the same players he went 2-10.

Your stats are off. He took a 1-10 team and finished with a 2-10 team. His final record was 63-76. But your ability to gloss over the middle part is truly where you miss. It is the equivalent of me saying Abe Lincoln was born naked, crying and sh*tting his pants and died naked, sh*tting his pants. You are missing the value of the term when he was here. Three division championships, three second place finishes. A 10-2 season that was not matched until recently, and that season saw wins over Maryland, ALA-freakin-BAMA and Iowa State, something no coach had done before or since. A Heisman candidate player and two bowl appearances.

FYI NIU's record in 1995 under Charlie Sadler was 3-8.
under Joe here is his 12 year record
1996 1-10
1997 0-11
1998 2-9
1999 5-6
2000 6-5
2001 6-5
2002 8-4
2003 10-2
2004 9-3
2005 7-5
2006 7-6
2007 2-10
Totals 63-76 You are correct I can not add.
In summary it took Joe 4 years to win as many games as hs predecesor did in his last year. Then the next 4 years were great. Then in the last 4 years he slid back to 2-10.

Please explain where my figures are incorrect. I will stand by my original statement. He was a good recruiter but an average coach at best.

..and dic, alum and Cybil are back on ignore..

Although these bouncebacks have been around forever that's an especially impressive haul ISU got this year, and Pittser was the subject of lots of discussion on this board last year. Just some recruiting news to share.

+1 1981, I appreciate your post. I was pretty adamant that we should offer the QB Pittser when DD came in. We will find out one way or another eventually, lets see what happens. I am much better at forecasting AFTER the fact than before.

Pittser was such an odd situation. You had recruiting sites fall in love with him, while most college coaching staffs couldn't figure out what the fuss was about. He was rated in the top 20-25 QB's in the country and none of the in-state FBS schools even offered him a scholarship. Then he goes to Wyoming and gets beat out by a lightly-recruited true freshman.

Just bizarre.

Oh Come on now WIS.....
You are not gonna question this?

Well if you are not going to I am....

So Abe died naked and $h*ttin his pants?
You can not be "Naked" and $hit your "Pants"
The fact that he had pants on means he was not naked.
Hence if he died $hittin his pants, he was clothed and not naked.
He was tryin to pull the wool over your eyes WIS...

Oh WIS, Joe wanted you to know somethin....
He is sorry he stole your girlfriend.
She said she never really liked you anyway.
Somethin about your winky dink.
So just let it go WIS...
Joe don't hate you now does he?
You know the ole "I'M OKAY, YOU'RE OKAY"
If not, then it is gonna be "JOE'S OKAY, YOU'RE NOT"
and we do not want that now do we?

I wish we'd play ISU again. I want to see if we can top the 52-0 04-chairshot we gave them the last time we played.

Um your glossing over a 4 year period that were better than the times that you said above were great.

If you consider 1999 to be great then really he had 8 years that were great not 4.

Joes great period was the four year peiod from 2000-2003 when he went from 6-5 to 10-2. From 2004 -2007 he went 9-3 to 2-10. Are you going to blame the drop in the last four years because of injuries? Face the facts, Joe was a good recruiter but an average coach. This is borne out because of the success the two coaches that came after him had with his players..
