Visitors to Athens do report a high theft rate especially in the neighborhood of DJ Cooper who leads the MAC in steals. Athens PD got tickets for the game and investigated. They found that the other team was just careless with the ball and its just circumstantial that the ball end up often in Cooper's paws. Cooper quickly distributes the ball or takes quick shots so he can't be charged with possession on the ball.

He was probably trying to make the point that Toledo is relatively safe compared to other Ohio cities. You know, the ones that aren't Appalachian hick towns with serious meth and prescription drug problems.
