Liverpool 2 Mancs 1!!!
Sorry Beck, but it's been a good week for Liverpool.

Liiiiverpooool! liiiiverpooool!

I thought Liverpool would really struggle today given the really tough match Wednesday night vs city and the short turnaround. But they found a way. Love the FA Cup.

Liverpool has been so frustrating. At times they seem to thrive against the best of competition (recently beating Man City in Carling Cup semis and beating Man U today), but lost to Bolton and Fulham... and tied against Stoke City and Blackburn. The Bolton game was just dreadful.

It has been frustrating but I think much of it is down to the fact that they're not as deep and have as much quality as City and Utd. They're a work in progress and while theyve cleared lots of dead wood and started to rebuild, they're still lacking. So it's not surprising that they can get up for bigger matches and win just about any game but they cant sustain those performances over the long haul with the squad they have. it's human nature to get up for the bigger games and they need to bring that attitude to lesser matches but they don't have the quality depth to win match in and match out.

No worries at all. I didn't even watch the match. Liverpool could beat any team Utd put out there if they put their minds to it, but today, Utd were without:
Ferdinand
Rooney
Nani
Anderson
Jones.

Five starters out and we had to use two midfielders aged 38 and 39, Three Lung Park as a central midfielder and started Valencia as a striker. Our own fault, mind you, they need to spend this summer or they will continue to bow out of tournaments. Liverpool, Chelsea and, obviously, Citeh are spending and Utd are not. It has caught up to them this year with all of these injuries.

If Citeh win the league, and they probably will, Utd's lone silverware will be the Community Shield, the Glazer's better stay out of Manchester this summer.

Finally, for those of you that think Utd gets every break in the world, we go to City and then we go to Pool. If you care to, look up our last five years FA Cup run and you will be surprised at how many tough road matches Utd is handed.

Congratulations to Liverpool.

What's wrong with chicarito? He's not the same dangerous player he was early on and last season?

You still have so much more quality than Liverpool. Nani, Rooney, berbatov, chicarito, welbeck, in attack vs Suarez, a creaky Bellamy, an one dimensional Carroll. We are so thin at attacking positions and desperately need another striker.

When Utd is healthy we have many more options, true, but Valencia has played more right back than anything this year and he was a striker today. Personally, I think ya'll bought a pig in a poke with Andy Carroll and I think he goes sooner rather than later.
You all are paying the price for Rafa's bad buys while we are paying the price for no buys.

Still, no Rooney and no Nani, no way. That's why I didn't watch. We put an aging team out there and Dalglish played it that way, he knew we had to. Bringing on Charlie Adam when Giggs and Scholes were sucking wind.....it was ineviable that Pool won, IMO, had they brought their A game they would have thrashed Utd soundly.

I'd rather Pool or Newcastle win the FA Cup than freaking Citeh or even Chelsea; nice to see the proud clubs win that trophy the way others have dominated. It's good for the game.

Earlier this year assho Noel Gallagher and all the other Citeh spuds were blah blah blah about a treble. Now they are out of the Carling and FA Cups and if Utd can somehow, some way catch them I'd laugh my ass off. Screw Citeh.

Not sure if you watched Pool's match ith city Wednesday but I swear I dont think Mancini has figured out how to play and manage all the talent he has. If not for Joe Hart (who is really amazing) it would've been 3 or 4-1 in the first half. Mancini played three across the back line and Pool had the entire wings to run down. pool isn't a good wide team as it is and have no true wingers and they were able to run roughshod on city's defense.

Anyway, city don't run as smoothly as they should with that kind of world class talent. They could be caught if Utd could get healthy and make a little run.

Did Rooney pull a hammy last week? I saw that he pulled lame in the last minute vs. Arsneal, but didn't see any news on the extent of His injury.

That and his hair plugs fell out, and he was worn out from too many romps with his granny prostitutes...just an all around bad week for Shrek.

Kidding aside talk about a guy that's been up and down. When he's on like he was in September, he looks the best in the world. But when his form dips it's like he disappears. Doesn't help that when the midfield struggles, fergie has to sit him deeper and deeper Till he's less of a scoring threat.

I turned that match off , but it was pretty contentious. Ashley is another guy that needs to get out the checkbook.
As for Mancini, how in the world can you spend almost 3 million and then whine that you need more players? lest we forget Citeh last Sunday, when Balotelli stomped on someone's face right in front of an official and nothing was called. There also should have been a straight red against Newcastle today.

Rooney is NOT the problem, repeat NOT. He is the best player in the EPL, playing with numerous players that are not up to snuff. Remember now, we started a 38 year old midfielder and a 39 year old winger today and at times have started Rafel and Fabio on the wings. When Cleverly gets back, if ever, we may be able to stretch the field, but until then you will see more one and two goal perormances from Utd.

Yes, Rooney is hurt. Everyone loves to hate Rooney but when the three lions take the field everyone is chanting Rooney's name. It is the price you pay for being the best.

The Glazer's have got to turn SAF loose or their CL finish will not be guaranteed next season.

Not saying Rooney is a problem. He's your best player by a mile but his scoring form is hot and cold and he's played out of forward position too much due to your lack of a center midfield playmaker. You lack a gerrard or silva type to control play and make e deadly passes to the strikers.

Carrick is a great passer...Cleverly , when healthy. We need a midfield enforcer.

RE: Liverpool 2 Mancs 1!!!
United were the better team today. hands down. No doubt. They should win at home. Evra is a ******* though. Suarez didn't want to shake his hand. He feels wronged by the allegations Evra made and having to sit out 8 league games. Like Huggs with Gilles he's not going to be a phony and shake the guys hand. Why it's so important for Evra to shake hands with an alleged racist is baffling. Then for evra to confront him in the tunnel at halftime about the handshake and then taunting after the game by running in front of him as he walked off and pumping his arms to the crowd is just ridiculous. Shut up, leave him be and be happy with yur win. He's the most classess player in the prem behind John Terry. Phil Dowd had to tell him to knock it off. Didn't see him acting this way when liverpool beat them at anfield two weeks ago.

Anyway, united once again have a golden chance to take the league. They've got a really favorable run of fixtures once march arrives. If they can keep it close, man city will crumble. Rooney has awakened again and if he gets hot, they'll take it.

RE: Liverpool 2 Mancs 1!!!
I just watched the pre-game for Spurs and Newcastle and all four announcers said fault clearly was with Suarez. Whether Suarez likes it or not, the FA has a policy of all players shaking hands before the match.
He wasn't just accused of using a racial term, he was found , using video, to have done so. For him not to shake hands was the catalyst for everything else. As for the tunnel bust up, it depends on which report you believe.
After the match, Evra should have walked off the pitch, but as I say, Suarez shakes hands before the match and it doesn't happen. As for classless players, yeah, whatever. Your anti Man U bias is showing. See any diving from Liverpool today?
Normal service restored.
Liverpool was dominated by a team with two midfielders with a combined age of nearly 80. They may think Dalglish is the answer but he did a lousy job today.

RE: Liverpool 2 Mancs 1!!!
SAF Post match:
The United manager was stunned to see Liverpool's Luis Suarez refuse to shake hands with Patrice Evra ahead of Saturday's encounter, and he insists that the Uruguayan - banned for eight games for racially abusing the Frenchman - was out of line.

On the thorny issue of whether or not the pre-match handshake - a Barclays Premier League requirement - should have been waived, the manager told Sky Sports: "It’s never been a problem really, up until this situation regarding racism. There’s never been a problem.

"So really we need to get our house in order in terms of fighting racism because it’s an issue, it’s an absolutely important issue. In this country football has come a long way from the days when John Barnes had bananas thrown at him, to where we are today, and we can’t go back. We have to go forward in a positive way and ban it altogether."

The Boss condemned Evra's exuberant post-match celebrations, saying: "He shouldn't have done that," after revealing that he had discussed the matter with his stand-in captain this morning.

"I couldn’t believe it, I just could not believe it," he said. "Patrice and I had a chat this morning and he said: ‘I’m going to shake his hand. I’ve got nothing to be ashamed of, I want to keep my dignity’, and he refuses!

"He (Suarez) is a disgrace to Liverpool football club – that player should not be allowed to play for Liverpool football club again. The history that club’s got, and he does that... in a situation

.
