Me and a couple of friends were watching the game and were just in awe of a play that Wake ran for a Paul 3 pointer. They ran 2 screens and a backdoor cut simultaneously which let Paul cut to the 3 point arch and drain a 3, the way they ran it and how in-sync they were was just impressive to see.

But it was also a very simple play, predicated by our guard dropping down to double team Eric Williams. A simple kick out and ball reversal and Paul is wide open.

Must be nice to have a big guy that looks to pass every now and then...

and a perimeter player who you know is going to make the open shot when you run such a play

it would even be nice just to see a team run a decent offense with people having good looks at a basket and giving us confidence that they would make about half of them.

Chris Paul and Justin Gray are luxuries that most coaches don't have. They are pure shooters and smart players. Having guys that can shoot like that make a coaches life much easier. Just like Taquan Dean does for Pitino. Why do you think these SG's are clobbered by every coach in America. These coaches don't want to have to think or coach that hard.................they want the players to make it easy for them...........and I don't blame them.

Frankly, I thought Wake's team was head's above UC's team on paper. They have possibly 3 NBA players over there to our none. But we are a scrappy team with heart. I question Skip's coaching...............because he had the better players and we almost beat them. Granted it was on our home floor...........but we ain't that good. We played good today though...........I was proud of our guys.
