Oklahoma vs Rutgers @Giants/Jets Stadium
OU needs two games with the departure of Mizzouri/TAMU and TCU was already on the schedule as a nonconference game....so OU needs two games. Discussions underway with Rutgers as per Daily Oklahoman.

That would be a nice high profile game for Rutgers, and would definitely help their SOS. It could be a sign that the Knights are indeed being considered for the next round of Big XII expansion, and would give Big XII fans a preview of the future...

Tim Pernetti was speaking at an event in South Jersey and he confirmed that they are in discussions with Oklahoma for a 2012 game at MetLife Stadium.

YESSSSSSS

(Not that I really want to trek to the swamps. But this would be the good OOC game Rutgers has generally lacked.)

Wouldn't read that much into it. Cincinnati has had a home and home with Oklahoma in football (the Cincy game played at Paul Brown, much like this proposal with Rutgers) and in basketball (games played in OKC and at US Bank Arena in downtown Cincy).

Oklahoma has played UC a time or two in the last few years...So UC must be considered then, right? Paco said it right, it means nothing pretty much.

I got that comment from a Tulsa paper. Of course, the same reporter later on came out with a tweet that said the report came from New Jersey, where Rutgers officials were inquiring about a game at the Jets Stadium, but Oklahoma wasn't interested...

UCF has been in discussions with OU for a home game next season too. Does that mean UCF is in consideration for the Big XII?

I'd schedule Ole Miss if I were you.

Eh, haven't heard anything on Ole Miss. I know we are also talking to Mizzou for a home game next season in case OU doesn't work out.

Rutgers played a series against Texas in the late 90s. So far, they aren't in the Big 12.

I couldn't care less about Rutgers being in the Big 12, I would just be happy to play a quality opponent of of conference.

Not thrilled about going to Met Life stadium but if that is what it would take to play Oklahoma, then Rutgers will have to do it.
