Makes us look good though. OC at Auburn is a pretty top job.

It's really tough being competitive consistently when you're basically a farm system for coaches for the big boys. Temple will probably come up with a good replacement, but still.

Your right on the mark. New coordinator means (potentially) a new system. Instead of going into spring practice with a year under their belt, it will be time to study another new system. It’s been a tough off season for the Owls. Losing Zach Smith to Ohio State was a bigger hit then most people realized, he was the WR coach but more importantly the Special Teams coach, they played well on ST last season. BP and Loeffler are the obvious hits. I went from “confidently optimistic” to “concerned” in the last 45 days!

MAC teams need to take the ideas of succession and mentoring very seriously. I've been saying that for a while now.

We're not going to suddenly change our offense to Texas Tech's; Our offense is going to change a little more, but nothing Coyer and Co. cannot handle.

I'm not sure how much Loeffler fit Temple's offensive scheme. Look at where he has coached, primarily Big Ten and briefly in the NFL. He has worked mostly with pro-style QB's and it looks like Addazio's preference is to run the spread. I think he would have helped Coyer become a better passer, but if I were a Temple fan I would want a spread OC.

He was the QB coach when Addazio was the OC at Florida; he was a perfect fit for exactly what Addazio wanted to run. Of course it will be Addazios offence until further notice, but now someone new need to learn the Addazio way, Loeffler spent 2 seasons in the middle of it at Florida with Addazio.
