Guess the difference between you and I is I wouldn't waste 2 seconds on what some reporter wrote about something that was so meaningless.

But then again...that's just me...whereas you posted over and over and over again that the reporter has to be wrong...all while not contacting said reporter.

Ever hear the saying "go to the source?"

That might be a good tip of the day.

lol the amount of posts you need to feel validated against a claim no one connected to UCF even made is hilarious

I did that when this was first posted. I got a reply thanking me for being a reading customer. He hasn't corrected the story either...

Not saying this is the case, but maybe he knows something you don't?

What I'm saying is that if the guy from the Orlando Sentinel is saying that WVU was recruiting him, he's full of it. That's all. This kid wasn't on WVU's radar at all. WVU may have been on Bloom's radar, but the interest wasn't mutual. The one TE that did commit to WVU is an OL project of Bill Bedenbaugh. It's not a position used in Holgorsen's offense...

Bloom may very well prove to be a great TE for UCF. I'm just saying WVU had no interest in him, since he doesn't figure into this style of offense, and the story saying otherwise didn't have their facts straight...

Unless you work for WVU football or the WVU Compliance office, I very much doubt that you know everyone who is being recruited by WVU. Having worked in an NCAA Compliance Office, I've seen how extensive recruiting really is. There were plenty of visits by coaches to kids that were never reported in the media or on fan sites. Given this kid's measurables and athletic pedigree, it's far from difficult to imagine WVU being interested in him.

Good post.

Most fans have no clue that teams "target" list normally 500-600 kids (most probably by the start or end of their Junior seasons...some even earlier)...then some teams have what they call a contact list (maybe 300 or so players) every year...then teams have to narrow it down...because for most teams it takes about 125-150 offers to "fill" a class of 20-25 players.

Every team has plan A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, etc....in regards to ranking kids per position...and many times they will have say 2 spots for kids ranked 1-5...meaning they will take the first 2 that commit..but if they can't get 2 out of that group...they then go down to 6, 7, 8, etc...options...sometimes late in the recruiting season.

Each team has their recruiting board/rankings/contact/offers lists slightly different than another...but many or even most principles stay the same.

Recruiting is crazy and sometimes mind-numbing...which is why its much easier to just worry about the kids that actually get on the field...because 30%40% of all recruits on average...never live up to their "hype" when they came out of HS...including some that never even make it on the field or school (for various reasons).

Unless you are on the coaching staff or married to a coach, you have no clue who WVU is recruiting. Coaches keep their targets very close to the vest. Just because you did not see his name on a WVU message board means nothing.
