RE: Dallas sports talk radio and WVU.
Tigeer, WVU doesn't feel wronged. They aren't saying that at all. Quit trying to make WVU sound like a martyr. You make yourself look silly and ignorant by doing so...

The fact of the matter is that WVU feels they have been let down by the conference for allowing every rivalry the Mountaineers value to crumble to dust. Once that happened, WVU was out. It was just a matter of finding someone who wanted what WVU could bring to the table...

There was no way WVU was going to remain in a BEast without Pitt and Syracuse. Most of what WVU values in our history has been wiped out by the small minded people running The BEast, with their myopic foresight being unable to see that a house divided can't stand. The rest of the world figured that out many long centuries before...

The BEast still hasn't figured that out, since they're building another house of cards with disparate interests. In time, the football schools will go their way, and the non-football schools their own. They only question is how long will it take...

I wish everyone luck. But just because there's more of you, it doesn't make the situation any less stable. The destabilizing factor still remains (non-football interests), and as long as that remains the case it changes little - except the numbers...

NOTE: For those of you who hate WVU - and all WVU fans - because the Mountaineers are leaving the conference, remain civil, especially to me. I don't go around antagonizing people, and spend a lot of time keeping the peace, removing the spam, and trying to keep this board a nice place for folks to come and talk about all things BEast. I'm moving all such posts to the Smack board, and a couple of people are getting a shorter and shorter leash with me...

P.S.: EERSFAN, EerMeNow, and buckaineer, lighten up, guys. Don't take everything personally, and don't antagonize folks, or make statements of opinion that will inflame the thin skinned people with hair trigger knee-jerk reactions. There's enough tension here already...

I have no bad feelings toward WVU. I believe the courts will take care of it, one way or the other.

The subject doesn't keep me up late at night.

It's WV, and only WV, that seems to think contracts don't apply to them. I have a much healthier respect for Pitt and Cuse now than I did before. Look how careful the SEC was with aTm, actually WORRIED about legal issues. The posts on these threads seem to be divided into two camps, WV posters and everyone else. Again, striking. It will be interesting to see if they actually get away with this, but I'm betting against it. It would throw the whole standard of binding contracts and exit clauses right out of the legal system. But, if they go I'm sure the BE will happily take their money.

When you consider how Luck has chosen to behave as AD at WVU (e.g. ignoring gag orders on discussing conference realignment, throwing other Big East teams under the bus, etc), is WVU's behavior in moving from the Big East really all that surprising?
