Big South Tournament site
Interesting scenarios shaping-up as the regular season winner hosts the men's tournament. Looks like Campbell/Gore Arena would be the best option of the current top 4 in the standings...despite the fact visiting fans may have to find hotels in Dunn, Fuquay, or Sanford.

Coastal's and CSU's gyms are very small - Coastal's new place won't be ready in time.

UNCA has waived their opportunity to host the championship game since they booked their new gym for the SoCon Women's Tournament. Too bad for their fans...

It was close to impossible to get tickets when Coastal hosted the tournament two years ago (and I'm sure the same situation existed last season, though WU was out of it after the first round, so I don't have first hand knowledge). I tried to land tickets to both the semifinals and finals in 2010, and couldn't get any through CCU or WU. Winthrop only had a small allotment, and that pretty much went to the same people that normally get the 'player pass' tickets, and likely some of the big-time donors.

We don't have to worry about hosting the tournament. When you lose a 20 point lead at home and go on to lose by 7. You don't have to worry about those things.

We might need to start thinking about finishing above 500 in the league right now. Not looking too good in my opinion.

You lose a game on the road to a much improved Charleston Southern team and one at home to by far the best team in the league and you are ready to jump ship? Interesting.

Well, I still say this team wins somewhere between 16-18 games and finishes Top 3 in the Big South.

Teams lose games all the time but losing to UNCA is no reason to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Perfect Example: Temple beats Duke in Philly (Neutral Court). Temple then turns around and has an 8 point lead on four occasions late in the first half and even has a five point lead with about 8 to go against Dayton. Temple loses by 10 AT HOME. It happens. Same Temple team also lost to Bowling Green who is 7-8. It happens.

I think I need to correct your math a little We have not lost one game on the road. We have lot the vast majority of them. We lost to Creighton (ok with that) Houston Baptist (ridiculous) UNCW (poor free throw shooting), VT (did not show up for 2nd half), App State (could not defend the three - recurring theme), NC State (Ok with that - best effort of the year) CSU (can't defend the 3 again - much smaller team - they kicked out butt).

We tried to give the game to Coastal Carolina but they are a good team. We had UNCA by 20 points folks. You have a 20 point lead at home with the crowd we had last night and you get you butt handed to you over the last half or so of the game and it is a little worse than you just lost one game. If we want to finish in the top of the conference we have to win all the games at home and beat the bottom half of the conference on the road. Losing to UNCA at home hurts real bad. What chance do we have of beating them in Asheville.

This is a trend and anyone who does not see that is just ignoring the facts.

Sorry if I expect better than what we are getting but I do. This season looks a lot like last to me. Hope I am wrong but i don't think so.

I am not in need of correction. I know the games Campbell has lost and where. I even know how CU lost them.

I see ALOT of promise where you see none. CU has two brand new guards and while great, new pieces are prone to be up and down. The one supposed constant, Merthie, has been more down then up. See his season shooting percentage vs. his career.

I think understanding who CU is and where they are versus where they are going is very important too.

You said one game on the road in making a point about what I said. I was simply pointing out that it has been a whole lot more than one game and one instance. It is a pattern and it needs to change. If you know the games they lost then don't belittle my point that there is a series of games in which we have failed badly and not just one game on the road and one at home. That is all I was saying.

Asheville had like four seniors who were freshmen when we had a junior and senior laden team that wore them out. We can't keep four players in a class to stay for four years and be successful. We lose one or two then have some transfers in and by the time they get going they are seniors and leaving. Merthie has been a disappointment I agree. I think we were doing better when he was not even in the lineup. We have not been the same team since he came back. Celestin does not even see the court in his senior year. Griffin is the only transfer from last year that we kept on the team and he is a good player but still can't shoot free throws worth a crap and gets in foul trouble constantly which keeps him on the bench when he needs to be in the game. He blocks a lot of shots which gets reactions from the crowd but he also gets up in the air too much and makes some dumb fouls.

The whole chemistry of the team has an issue. Robbie needs to get it right and soon.

You can say what you want but Robbie needs to have a winning season this year with the talent we have. There are whispers of there being an issue there now. Only one winning season to show so far. He needs to turn it around starting tomorrow and finish the conference strong. That is all I am saying. I hope he does because I want him and team to be successful and having a program that can consistantly put a winning program on the court.

I had high hopes for the year but I am very very disappointed right now. And I am certainly not the only one.

We lost to BG because it was our first game after our starting center got hurt and we had to put our 6'9 205 lb. redshirt freshman PF/C into the starting lineup. Dayton is also pretty damn good. We unfortunately have a penchant for playing up and down to our opponent.

RE: Big South Tournament site
UNCA/SoCon/BigSouth officials worked it out and the championship game can be held in UNCA's new arena. Hopefully, the Camels can still get the tournament in the Creek, though.

It sounds like next year, the men's AND women's tournaments might be combined and held at a neutral site.
