Chandler Harnish's future?
This is a very interesting read. Seems people are taking notice of all that our amazing young QB has accomplished and his talents.

Too much production not to be drafted. He'll go sometime.

RE: Chandler Harnish's future?
I was just about to post this. Good stuff. This comment was my favorite:

I know every shortie gets a Drew Brees comparison, but he looks more like Drew than any QB I have seen in a while. Deep dropbacks to a throwing lane, sudden movement when scrambling or even just sudden stepping into the pocket, and using open areas of the field very well, in addition to putting the ball high in the endzone.

Harnish is a QB I would be excited about, despite his shortcomings.

He will get a look from some NFL teams ....
At the very least, he has his healing ability to fall back on.
I was very impressed that he healed his ankle in minutes during
the game last night. So he at least has that going for him...

I think so too, and he's got the size they're looking for. Not a rocket for an arm, and didn't play in a pro-style offense, but he's got things you can work with and develop. He has a lot of the things you can't teach, which is important.

Yeah, it'd be different if he was under the dreaded 6 foot mark, but at the worst I think he'll measure at 6-1. Unless he just flops in his workouts, I don't see how he doesn't go.

Yea...I cringed at that one too. Maybe it was posted from his phone and auto-correct took over? we can only hope since he professes to be an alum.

Doubt it. Apparently he hasn't seen a single one of Harnish's games in the past 3 years...which seems odd considering he's a big enough football fan that he posts on a Seattle Seahawks draft blog website.

I watched him play at BG this year, and wasn't impressed. If we're talking about a gimmicky offense, NIU is close to the top. He runs the Tebow offense quite effectively, but I wasn't impressed. Might have just been the game. If we don't snag someone in rounds 1-4, I'd take a flier because he has decent tools.

I was referring to the spelling HUSKY in the post rather than HUSKIE as an alum would say it.

The always unimpressive game of 16-26 for 296 passing yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, to go along with with 17 carries for 151 yards and a TD.

RE: Chandler Harnish's future?
He is ranked from 9 to low teens @ QB. Going back 3 yrs, 12-14-12 QBs have been drafted. Guessing, if nothing else, he will get picked on stats alone. If he does not, no doubt he gets signed as a FA and sticks to a team. So hard for middle round picks to stick around with a team and get a chance. But I guess @ that point someone sees something in you and sees the upside on their team hopefully, and not just drafting a #3 (like signing a FA) for peanuts and to run a practice squad. Hopefully he finds someone with a need, then gets a break and gets in there w/in a couple yrs.

According to CBS, he is #9 , ahead of the likes of Keenum and K. Moore. I think one thing that hurts him is playing in the shotgun so much. That can, and has been overcome. Much more than the guys who play solely in shotgun, spread offenses with 4-5 rec, no TE (BTW, did NIU have one this year?) who do nothing but pass. In the age of "Tebowing" and Newton, scouts want a QB that can run and take a hit. Guy can do both.

RE: Chandler Harnish's future?
The Broncos fans seem to really want Harnish to back up Tebow according to their forum. Obviously because of the similar offense we run. It's funny, some fans want Harnish to start over Tebow. Maybe Harnishing with take the NFL by storm!

Well, really, sounds like he would still draft him in the later rounds as a "flier", which is about all we expect anyway. He's probably just not impressed enough for him to be an early pick.

The NFL is always looking for winners and Harnish has been the ultimate winner for NIU.

RE: Chandler Harnish's future?
While I do not think someone would be willing to spend millions drafting an unorthodox QB from a MAC school, I could definitely see a team taking a smaller gamble with a late round pick, or post draft FA signing of Harnish.

The NFL has a really strict template they expect draftees to fit through, and they could decide that Chandler is just an inch too short, a tenth of a second to slow or whatever. However, I do think he will get a shot somewhere, but without much hoopla about it.
