Houston Football's Keenum, Edwards Headed To NFL Combine
Houston, Texas - Houston Football will have two representatives at the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine (Feb. 22-28), as quarterback Case Keenum and wide receiver Patrick Edwards were selected to attend the prestigious event.

Executives, coaching, player personnel and medical staffs from all 32 NFL teams will be on hand in Indianapolis to evaluate college football's top players in advance of the April 26-28 NFL Draft. Television coverage will be provided by the NFL Network.

Both Keenum and Edwards are coming off spectacular collegiate careers for Houston and led the Cougars to a 13-1 overall mark and a victory in the 2012 TicketCity Bowl against Penn State.

Keenum finished the year with 5,631 yards passing, 48 touchdowns and just five interceptions. The Abilene, Texas, native enjoyed a record-breaking 48-to-5 TD-to-INT ratio and completed 71 percent of his throws. Keenum had multiple TD throws in 13 of 14 games and eclipsed the 300-yard passing mark in all-14 contests. He also broke Cotton Bowl Stadium records for completions (45), attempts (69), yardage (532) and total yardage (542). The 600 yards of total offense amassed by UH was also the most ever in facility history.

For his career Keenum finished with 1,546 completions (NCAA Record) on 2,229 attempts. He threw for 155 touchdowns (NCAA Record) and just 46 interceptions and racked up 19,217 (NCAA Record) yards through the air. Overall he accumulated 20,114 yards of total offense (NCAA Record) and 178 total scores (NCAA Record). He also became the first UH quarterback to start four bowl games.

Edwards broke a host of records for the Cougars this season en route to earning All-America and Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year recognition. The Hearne, Texas, native finished his career as one of college football's most productive pass-catchers, making 282 receptions for 4,471 yards and 43 scores. This season he ranked among college football's Top 15 in touchdown receptions (No. 1 with 20), receiving yards (No. 2 with 1,752), yards per catch (No. 6 at 19.7) and receptions (No. 15 with 89). Edwards ranked among college football's leaders over the last decade with his 43 TD grabs (No. 4) and 4,471 receiving yards (No. 2).

The Third Team All-American had eight games this season where he topped 100 yards receiving, including one game over 200 yards (228 vs. Penn State) and a career high 318-yard contest vs. Rice, which was the top receiving effort in college football this year. He added a career high five TD receptions in that Rice contest as well. His 228-yard, two-TD afternoon vs. Penn State in the 2012 TicketCity Bowl was the top receiving performance in Cotton Bowl Stadium history.

Edwards owns school and C-USA records for receiving yards (4.471) and career 100-yard games (17). He also boasts the UH record for career receiving scores (43) and is second in school history with at least one reception in 48 consecutive games (every game of his career).

Not surprised about Keenum and Edwards going to the Combine. I'm surprised Sammy Brown isn't going though.
