RE: Tim tebow is awful
You can think you fixed it for me. But even with the 3 losses... 8-4 is a good record in the NFL. Once again, there are now 24 teams that wish they were in Denver's spot.
9-20 for 266 is a good game, but you can't just subtract a play because you don't agree with the results. You can sit there and say it isn't, but when a couple of them were drops and then playing the Steelers...
Ya know how many times they have given up 24+ points this year... TWICE! Once to the Ravens in the first game of the season and then Sunday. Must've been doing something right!!!!

RE: Tim tebow is awful
I think you cannot use stats to qualify Tebow's performance as you would a traditional in the pocket QB. Tebow's presence or at least threat of running forces defenses to keep a defender focused on him which makes it easier for RBs. It can also free WRs from less safety help. His threat has boosted the Denver RB production due to any running play, at least one defender cannot sell out on the RB on a clear running play.
On the final play, Denver was in a shotgun offense formation while the Steelers countered with their base run defense. No other NFL team would have gotten base run coverage while in shotgun. Not only was the Steeler coverage run, but it was sold out to stop the run on that particular play. DT was able to run right by the safety who came up to stop what they thought was a run. Denver ran out of that play multiple times throughout the game. While DT made an awesome stiff arm, I doubt any other QB would have gotten a WR one on one without safety help for a number 1 WR while in Shotgun. Tim Tebow's constant threat to run and previous runs allowed for them to get run coverage. It was a brilliant call by Denver's OC and sold by Tebow's keeping the ball on previous option reads while in shotgun throughout regular time.
Yes, awesome run by DT but definitely set up by Denver's offense throughout the game. The Steelers gambled Denver would not pass and if they did, Tebow would not hit DT in stride so Ike Taylor playing one on one would be able to recover. I can see other teams pulling that off 2 and 1 with the QB behind center but not 1 and 10 in shotgun. Tebow's stats are not great especially compared to Brady, Rogers, etc. But I do think he helps boosts RAC of his WRs and RB yards because defenses have to account for Tebow running and running often by spying a LB or pulling a safety.

Why? Because he's DEAD LAST in the NFL in completion percentage?
Apologists always come up with something wacky.

I'm not a Pittsburgh fan, nor am I from Pennsylvania.
You know what they say about assuming things, right?

And, even if the last play didn't happen......... 236 yds, 50 yds rushing on 10 carries and 2 TD's isn't shabby. LOL
No, I'm a big picture guy.
I don't have a dog in the fight, I don't understand all the hubbub over Tebow. No one (either way) is talking about the fact that Matt Moore or Seneca Wallace should/shouldn't be a starting NFL QB. To me it is all just nonsense.
Which brings me to the Tebow game. The post-game conventional widom that is now being sheeped is that he had a remarkable game.
9-20 for 236 yards is not remarkable. That's a fact. The idea that one pedestrian pass to a wide open guy (65 of the 80 were YAC) doesn't turn an average at best game into one for the ages.
That is all.
It seems you are a lot more emotionally invested in this and want to argue to the death about characterizing a 9-20 performance as "not too shabby."
I bet the twenty four other teams watching on tv, their players, coaches, cheerleaders, fans, management and secretaries would consider 9-20, 236 yds, 50 yds rushing and 2tds, ZERO turnovers and a playoff win to be quite non-shabby. Btw, that was before he threw the next one for a winning TD and 80 yds. Even though in your mind it doesn't count. LOL
Please carry on and continue the good fight.
