Bill Connelly (football outsiders, football study hall) now includes in his ranking for previewing games
Quote:MACtion: This is a look at how closely teams are associated with big-play football (like those high-scoring, mid-week MAC games). Teams that rank high on the MACtion scale play games with a ton of both big plays (gained and allowed) and passing downs. For more, go here.

I guess Washington and Baylor don't play defense either.

If can't play UT ball, how about EMU ball?
EMU 14, WMU 10
WMU came pretty damn close to having an outstanding season.
3 points to Illinois and UT, 4 to EMU and 5 to Purdue.

The PAC-12 is going to be hilariously awesome in a few years. Washington last night's already there, Oregon, USC, Leach at Wazzu, Rodriguez at Arizona.

Where's all that talent going to come from?
Looks like the well will be drying up for Boise.

To be fair, Leach wasn't exactly pulling down elite talent in Lubbock before, Crabtree aside.
Boise will still be finding solid defensive players, though.

I'm sure they will be fine, but there will be more competition for the CA talent that they rely on.

Moving to the Big East should help Boise continue to stay a step ahead of the Mountain Timezone schools in recruiting and competitive nationally.
It has proven continuously that AQ status will lead a program to attract a higher caliber athlete. Once AQ status goes away the Big East will do it mainly by having schools located in talent hotbeds (2 in FL, 2 in TX, 1 in CA) and with less dead weight than CUSA/MWC/alliance (as usual).

I'm sure they will be fine. But there will be more competition for that CA talent if more of the PAC12 teams take it up a notch.

Boise will have to start pulling in then from Texas, I guess.
Boise aside from just a few seasons has been at least 7 or 8 program going back to the 70's and reflects well on their long term survival as a player at least in the top 40. They aren't going to tank like Marshall did upon move to CUSA or anything remotely as terrible.
