Thank You From Gruehls Family
My younger brother couldn't help but notice that many of the comments posted on our father's guest book were from members of this forum. Curious to see if there was something posted about Dad on this board, he did a Google search for Bearcat Banter. It brought tears to our eyes to see "The Gregory A. Ruehlmann Sr. Memorial Cincinnati Board" as one of the results. What a simple, yet extremely meaningful act.

Our father was a man of many talents, not the least of which was having a razor-sharp wit and an amazing way with words...often tear-inducing, even for grown men (as many of you seem to be familiar with). When Dad had to retire because of his arthritis and back issues, there were few things that brought him true comfort and happiness like this forum. Unable to eviscerate his opponents in the court of law, he was able to do so here in the Court of 'Cats. I think you all would be happy to know that you were often the topic of conversation, especially when he had a particularly witty retort. Dad loved hosting those of you from out of town, and meeting with those of you who live here in Cincy.

Thank you so very much for providing him with this honor, an honor he would be so proud of. And thank you from his family, for providing us with another reminder of how wonderful our father was and how many people he impacted.

A great man who touched many lives, often those he never met. His name will be synonymous with Bearcat pride forever for those who knew him if only for a glimpse. God bless.

Thank you. Your dad helped me out with words of encouragement during my troubled time over this past Spring/Summer. Definitely a great guy indeed. Keep your head up, and my condolences to you and your family.

Thank you for stopping by Amanda. Your dad will be missed and remembered on here for many years to come. He would randomly send me messages like the one above and instantly brighten up my day. Your family is in my prayers.

Amanda,

If there is anything those of us can do for you or your family, please don't hesitate to ask. I know it may sound odd, considering this is only an Internet message board, but to many here Greg became extended family over the years.

Amanda, your father was an amazing person. He never knew a stranger and he was always kind to others that he met in person and even those he hadn't. His love for bearcats sports was so genuine and I loved his humor and wit when he argue with others about them. He'll never be forgotten by those of us that knew him, Amanda. I'm sorry that he suffered for so long with the back and knee pains. He's home with the Lord now and his pain is gone. Sorry again, about your loss but it's Heaven's Gain.

He remembered my family around the holidays and wrote near Thanksgiving. I just feel terrible for your loss. We were so lucky to have him for the time that we did. I can't say enough about the man, but I hope you feel how much he was admired, respected, and loved among us and all groups affiliated with him. God Bless.

Isn't it amazing that so many tributes came from those he never met, and from many far away. An inspiring and unique legacy..
Prayers to you Amanda and the Ruehlmann family.

Finally got a chance to sit down and catch up only to find this very unfortunate news. God bless and my prayers with your family. He was one of the most identifiable posters and a great Bearcat fan. I'll miss seeing him post.

RE: Thank You From Gruehls Family
I was fortunate to have sat with Greg at a couple UC home games in Huggs/Kennedy years, went out to dinner with he and his wife afterwards. As good of a person as he was on here, he was even better off of it. He even sent my wife and I wedding gifts. Growing up, getting married and having kids has taken away most of the time I used to spend around here. Im ashamed im just now finding out (A text from a SLU friend whom loved Greg's "work" at cusatalk), I didnt even know he was sick......Goodbye Friend.
