Serious question. Why would you want to go to a school that will probably finish under .500 this year, not do jack in the $EC tourney or the NCAA tourney, and waste your brief college career in knoxvegas?Would you not like to stay relevant and play with better players while winning a C-USA championship and more than likely making a deep run in the big dance and forever being a hero in your own town?

Because they have an available scholarship?

It was said Florida was in the mix so I'm assuming they have a scholarship to give. It would make more sense than Knoxpatch on a several different levels (if he doesn't want to go to Memphis). First, Florida has a good team and will be playing and be relevant in March. Second, going to Florida won't pizz off the Memphis fans nearly as much as going to the home of the single tooth smile. Third, people in Gainesville couldn't possibly dislike black folks (and especially black folks from Memphis) nearly as much as the KKKnoxville citizens so he won't have to deal with being told not to take offense because he's one of the "good ones" after Joe Bob drops the N bomb in front of him at the Win-Dixie like he will in the foothills of the Brother/Sister Lovin Mountains out east.

A certain local and highly contested basketball player chose to leave Memphis and play with another school. Seven years later, this kid didn't make the NBA and Europe wasn't panning out and he decided to join the local work force. I watched in amazement when senior management decided NOT to hire him because of his decision to leave Memphis. Keep in mind, this was a low level type position, maybe paying $45,000. Memphians take care of Memphians. I hope he makes the right decision and makes it to the pros because this city remembers when you turn your back on us.
So if Memphis is not unique, then Joey, AB, WB are done in Baltimore.
CDR finished in Detroit. Robert toast in Atlanta. AA history in Boston.
and Derrick (oh thats right, he just got 94 million in ..........Chicago. Your senior management.........hmmmmmm..........don't want to jump to conclusions.............suck.

Ok I could see where Florida could be a major player being the better program and having an available scholarship but it seems like people already have him on I-40 headed east.If you have aspirations of going pro after a year possibly two then I couldn't see UT but Florida makes sense. Thanks y'all for helping clear that up.

I don't see him walking into the gym in Jan and contributing to a SEC team this year. Other than Tenn which needs players. He is going to waste this year of eligibility. But he is a one and done, so it really doesn't matter. Wish he was a Tiger, but good luck to him.
