I agree with him, Howl. IMO the divisions would be better served by breaking up teams from the same state...

WEST
- Cincinnati Bearcats/Rutgers Scarlet Knights (BYU or NIU ain't cuttin' it)

Cross division rivalries isn't a problem with a 9 game conference schedule. So I see no issues...

The question would be if they want to potential meet twice in the same season - the regular season and potentially the championship game.

Texas will not agree to anything if it does not involve playing OU and TT every year. Likewise OU with OSU, Texas, and KU and KSU , and KSU and ISU they will not allow these conf games to stop.

I don't think about BYU one way or the other. I just don't think they fit in the Big XII. Texas has the big ego, and BYU wants to dictate. They'll never be able to dictate to Texas, which means BYU won't be invited...
As for the Bull's comment, it's amazing how many Big XII experts there are in The BEast, now that WVU has decided to switch their allegience...

The schedule I posted takes all that into consideration.
Sure, you don't have to like NIU as the 12th, but replace them with your 12th candidate and the scheduling works. Plus the divisions would be competitively balanced and allow for a Texas/Oklahoma Title game, which the TV networks (and the folks at Texas & Oklahoma) would love.
I provided a link to where I found the suggestion and it further explains the scheduling there. Basically, one permanent cross-divisional game. I copied/pasted from the website so I think as listed below, Texas would play Oklahoma, etc., etc.

I agree about BYU. The MWC was built (more or less) by them and for them. They signed off on every thing about that conference then when Utah got the nod for the PAC all of a sudden there wasn't anything good about the MWC at all. They hated everything about it. They hated the other schools that them and Utah had hand picked to be in it with them. They hated the Mountain TV Channel that they had been so gung-ho about creating in the first place. They hated that the conference would not bend the rules for them alone concerning tv rights, rules that they themselves helped to write. They hated the MWC so much that they snuck around and backhandedly tried to sabotage the conference by conspiring with the WAC again.
Of course, none of this should have surprised anyone. BYU pulled this same act after supporting the WAC expansion to 16 then deciding to take their group of 8 to go play elsewhere.
BYU is a fine university with some very super nice folks associated with it. They also need to play alone!
