Both teams had several traveling calls. In fact, there were a few calls that seemed kinds of odd and stemmed any flow for either team. I think the combination of two teams who are struggling and some officials who were not sharp made it an even uglier game. It might have helped SIU more, I don't know. For sure I know we never were able to get into much of any flow.

Seemed like we were hardly even getting any shots off with all the travelling calls, mixed in with some turnovers. Has to be even harder to shoot well when you do get a shot.

We were also talking about all the taveling calls the first half on Sat. There was a lot of touch fouls on the outside with no fouls in the post. Bad teams will sometimes get the bad refs. We need a win bad. No turnovers in the second half with no 15 point runs and I see a W. First play of the DePaul game NIU runs a postup, first play of the SIU second half NIU runs a postup. Then we never see the play again?
See you behind the bench. Still the best ticket in town for a basketball junkie.
At least the refs called the game the same way.

At $8 for a ticket plus $5 to park, and it costs me several dollars in gas and tolls to get there and back - I don't know how many games I'll be going to for a team that hasn't shown it can shoot straight yet. Spent too much money this year as it is.

Aw, it's fun. There are no expectations, so just sit back, relax, and enjoy anything good you may see on the court. We've got 4 Saturday games in January. I'll be there.

I talked to Barksdale who talked to Hurd, money is no longer an issues. Just pick up a duffle bag for him and bring it to the parking lot and there will be tickets waiting for you.

Newsflash: I go to football games, too! I go to almost all of our home games. I went to our last 2 games at SF. I used to go to many of the away games, including two MACC and all bowl games up to last year, but the Huskies lost every damn one (except the Silicon Valley Bowl). It's a lot of money to spend to come away seriously depressed...and embarrassed. I'd rather watch on TV and take the money I would spend going to these games and donate it to the HASF, which is what I do. My annual donation is substantial, and I am now increasing that for the games I do not attend. Something wrong with that??
I detest weekday games...period. I have important work commitments that many times keep me at work late during the week. I do not have those commitments on Saturdays. I got very upset when the MAC sold us out, and the weekday games still make me boil. If the MAC had not prostituted itself to ESPN and our weekday games were on Saturdays, I would be there....rain, shine, snow, cold, tornado, hurricane, or swarm of locusts.
I go to all basketball games ON WEEKENDS. I have season tickets. How many here have BB season tickets and attend the basketball games? Will you go only when the team gets good? I have attended every weekend game I can for many years. I also have women's BB season tickets to support them, but I am only able to attend a few of their games.

For Dog fan What is your feel on Kathie Bennett coaching NIU? Is she up coaching our players? She had a great run at IU. I feel we are very lucky to have her!

Absolutely! I think she is great - an excellent coach.
I really wish I could attend more basketball games. I would love to attend more women's games. However, I am limited to weekends. Since the men don't play a weekend home game in February, I'll probably attend a couple of the women's games. They are super enjoyable.

RE: NIU-SIU Game Thread
I love Kathi Bennett, she will get it done here. It probably will take her 4-5yrs but she will win the mac! Niu, has some very talented coaches in place right now. With better attendance, we could speed up the winning process for our teams. 1000 people at a womens bball game would make a big difference. 3000 at a mens game would help the team alot.

I also have season tickets for both.
I try to get to as many games as I can but it is a long drive.
If we can keep both coaches we might see a banner that starts with a 20.. in the Convo.
It is sad looking at the banners that stop in 95.
