Graham GONE to ASU
This is just unbelievable. He comes here and coaches for one season and now we're looking for a new head coach again.

As if last year's debacle wasn't bad enough, now this? I think we're in big time trouble. I'm actually probably speechless. I don't know how we're going to rebound from this as we are probably going to lose yet another recruiting class.

How many "dream" coaching jobs has Graham had? Just a quick internet search found a story with him saying the Pitt job was a dream come true: http://pittnews.com/genac/2011/01/11/liv...onference/

I'm certain there's something out there about Tulsa as well. Maybe even Rice. Arizona State will get what they deserve, but you gotta think by this point someone's aware that he WILL leave when someone shows up with a check

Now you know why the Rice band called him "dooshbagg" in a halftime show.

RE: Graham GONE to ASU
Apparently he's already sent this over to the ASU athletic dept and has a secretary filling in the blanks so he can be ready for the press conference:

Quote:"I've dreamed of this day since I was in the seventh grade. I'm so humbled to be here today, and so excited. It's been quite a week for me and for my staff that's here with me today, too, that will be joining our family here at [SCHOOL NAME]. I can't tell you how excited I am to get started. It's a [SCHOOL NAME] program I've been very familiar with. My passion is coaching football. This situation here is one I've researched quite a bit, and there's no doubt in my mind that we're going to build a winner here.

"There are things in place that fit me to a tee. One of the things that I think I have a talent for, is coaching [SMART KIDS/GREAT ATHLETES (select most applicable for new job)]. One of things that I think really helped us in [LAST JOB] was that we had [SMART KIDS/GREAT ATHLETES].

"I want to thank the search committee. I've tried to get advice from guys that I've worked for, about going into an interview, and they said, 'Just be yourself.' I really felt like I connected and I felt good. I want to thank them for believing in me. I surely won't let you down. I want to thank [ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FIRST NAME] for believing in me.

"More than anything, I want the [SCHOOL NAME] community to understand that my goal, my passion, is to bring a winner here. Anything less than being conference champions and winning our BCS bowl is unacceptable to me. I want high expections, and that's how we'll approach everything we do.

"When I say that, I always see those funny looks from the faces in the crowd everywhere I've been. They really doubt that, and that's fine. But two or three years from now, we'll have all those things changed. We'll restore the great tradition.

"I also want to reach out and tell the alumni and the former players at the University -- [NAME OF TWO FORMER PLAYERS] -- that I'm excited to be able to come and lead this program, with the great tradition they've had here. I look forward to leading the [SCHOOL MASCOT].

"A little bit about what our philosophy will be, like [ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FIRST NAME] said, we'll be the hardest working staff around. We'll be the hardest-working football team around. How do you win? You work for it. There's no substitute for it. We're going to work hard in recruiting. We're going to work hard every single day.

"A lot of people ask, 'Coach, how do you build a winner? How does it happen?' Just one rep at a time, just one practice at a time, one play at a time, and being highly motivated. Young people want you to get excited about what they're doing, and we're going to have a staff that will coach with a great passion. Every single day. That's how we're going to get it done.

"We'll be the hardest working and the most disciplined, too. That's the key for me. Our kids are going to compete and have high standards in every area that they encounter, whether it be out in the community, the classroom, or on the field. The minimum expectation is excellence. That's how we'll go about doing it. I've got a plan in place and we're ready to go. I'm fired up.

"Again, I'm so humbled to be here today. It's a dream for me. I know my family's watching. I come from a family with one mom and five kids. I know she's proud. I grew up playing football in the pasture behind my house with my brothers. They taught me how to play the game that I love so much.

"I can't tell you how excited (I am). I've had about three hours sleep. I'm gunned up and ready to get out and start recruiting. I can't wait to meet all the players; I met some of them here today. I can't wait to start working and building a winner here at [SCHOOL NAME].

"I also want to thank my wife. My wife is my partner. She is the person who allows me to do what I love to do, allows me to put my laptop on my chest at night and watch cutups until one o'clock in the morning. It doesn't seem to bother her too bad.

"I want to introduce my wife, and I want to introduce a couple of guys that didn't even ask what they were going to make, didn't even ask about their salary. When they knew I was coming here, they said, 'Coach, I want to go.' They left great jobs to come here and I'm humbled to have them here. I want them to know how much I appreciate them and love those guys for being here.

"This is my wife, Penni. Stand up, Penni. You guys can tell I'm a good recruiter.

"This is [INTRODUCE POOR SAPS I WAS ABLE TO CONVINCE TO FOLLOW ME AGAIN]

"I can't tell you what a comfort it is for me, to come here today and not just stand here by myself; to be able to bring a staff of guys that know how I'm going to do things and how we're going to treat kids, know what a passion we're going to have in what we're doing. I want to thank them for their committment to me and to our program.

"Also, [INTRODUCE OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS I DRAGGED IN]

"As far as what we're going to do, people want to ask what offense and defense we're going to run. We're going to assess the talents of the kids we have, and I have a pretty good idea of that because I've been assessing their talents from the last three years in playing them. We're going to design our schemes to fit the talents and the skills of the kids that we have. And we're going to adjust our schemes to the talents of the kids that we can recruit year-in and year-out.

"We're going to be innovative in how we go about doing it. We will be a spread, wide-open type of offensive attack. We'll spread the field and be able to run and throw it, kind of a run-and-gun, no-huddle type situation is what we're looking at. Again, as far as the details of it, that takes assessing and looking at the talent in exactly what we want to put together.

"Defensively, we'll do the same thing. Naturally, my background is as a defensive coordinator. I've coached all kinds of different fronts. Right now, I'm kind of known for the 3-3-5 defense. That's what fit our kids at [LAST JOB]. What we'll do here will be an attacking style of defense. If you guys got a chance to watch the [LAST BIG WIN] game, your kids are going to play like you coach them.

"We're going to coach our kids here hard, and we're going to win football games. That's how we're going to put people in these stands out here. We're going to be out in the community. One handshake at a time, we're going to rebuild this thing. It's about building relationships. It can't be done by one person, and I'll be calling on a bunch of you to help.

"I know that I can look elsewhere in the athletic department and see the success that you're having. Maybe I can get [CURRENT OR FORMER SUCCESSFUL COACH IN OTHER SPORT AT NEW SCHOOL -- MUST BE ALIVE] to coach defensive ends for me. I'm so impressed with the success you've had in the other sports. I'm honored to be here today. It's a pride and a privilege to be the head football coach at [SCHOOL NAME].

"We'll run a clean program. We'll run a program where you can be proud of the kids out on the field, how they conduct themselves on the field. That's part of the discipline package that we'll sell our kids -- how they sit an a chair, where they sit in the classroom, how they interact with everyone they come in contact with -- and its one that demands excellence. We have a staff that knows how to do that, and we'll have a great staff in place. I just have a few with them with me today, and we should be able to complete that by the end of the week, ready to hit the ground running, going recruiting.

"I also want to say to those recruits out there, especially to the three kids that are committed to [SCHOOL NAME], I'm excited to get out there. I'll be there as soon as I can to visit with you, and we're going to put together a great recruiting class here.

"I'm excited and honored to be here, and I really appreciate the opportunity."

RE: Graham GONE to ASU
I just can't believe what a scumbag Graham is. He really pulled the wool over my eyes and that's what hurts so bad about this situation. I bought into this approach, thought he was really getting the program on track (his recruiting was really on pace to be excellent) and then we find out today it's all lies. The video with him at ASU is just despicable.

He better win at ASU or else this may very well be his last coaching job. There's no doubt people have taken notice to his behavior in this debacle.

RE: Graham GONE to ASU
Surprisingly, I wasn't that upset over TG no longer being coach on one hand. What is truly upsetting to me is the way he did it and mostly because I bought into his garbage. I originally did not like the hire nor trusted him. I wanted Bradley to be the next coach and was not enamored with the "High Octane" read option spread defense. But he won me over and I feel like a fool for believing in him. This closes the chapter on that slimy ass for me.

Moving on.
