First and probably easiest stop of 5 road games to finish out 2011.
Sagarin: Campbell #120, HBU #298 (CU over HBU by 8).
The team is playing much better than they did when they played HBU in November.
Will Griffin return from his hand injury?

Hopefully well get past this game with a W and healthy. This next 4 game stretch at VT, UNCW, APP, NCSU will show us alot. im sure coach has them focused on the task at hand first.
I dont know of Eric is playing or not. I hope is ready to go.

Apparently the game will be streamed live at http://www.foxsportshouston.com.
This one makes me nervous. Easy to get up for the ACC games and in-state games. HBU now has a 6-9 guy averaging 17 points a game that didn't play against us in Buies Creek. We should win, but these types of games always are troublesome.

18 stitches on your shooting hand and playing in 10 days would be quite an amazing accomplishment if you ask me.

Down 2 at the half. A little too close for comfort.
Griffin and Merthie are playing.
Anyone watching the video feed?

Absolute pathetic effort tonight. Houston Baptist is a pretty bad team and they outplayed us all night. Can't shoot free throws, can't rebound, can't shoot period.
The best chance to win on the road and we lose to these bunch of chumps. RPI will go down fast now. We need to pick it up or 8-1 will turn into 8-6 very quickly.

Don't think its the end of the world, but it looks like we can't handle all the good vibes and attention we got. You are right, RPI is shot now. Good news is it is a non-conference game, so I guess it doesn't hurt in that regard.

We also were not very agrressive in the game. Wathced it on the HB feed. They took the game to us most of the night and we kept turning the ball over and missing layups, short shots and free throws!!!!!!!!!!!!

Upon reflection:
We are still 8-2. If you had told me we would be 8-2 after 10 games, I probably would have taken that. Hell, over 30 games, that's 24-6. I'll take that all day. It's not like that just blew our at-large bid chances to the tournament.
As I mentioned yesterday, this game scared me. of the five road games, its not in the ACC or in-state.
It does smack the RPI a bit, but I can't decide if I would rather go on the road and lose to a D1 school or take the ECU, CCU approach and play a bunch of non-D1's at home.
Hopefully this is a big wake-up call. We only played one game in two weeks (Methodist), got some media attention out of Raleigh, and were generally feeling pretty good about life. Hopefully this snaps us back to reality.
We need to go take care of business at UNCW and App, do what we can at Va. Tech and NCSU and get right before conference season starts. With the Big South tournament games being held in the higher seed's arena, the conference season is that much more important.

I was going to say...no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
A couple of other points:
1. While Eric played well with a stitched up hand, he is still playing with 18 stitches in his shooting hand!
2. Slowly trying to work Lorne back into playing shape and playing with a group he doesn't have that much on-floor time with could be tough. Keep in mind this team has new additions all over but two major additions at positions that affect him directly.

BTW...win or lose...the Sagrin was dropping. Again, I don't place much stock in the Sagrin or RPI for schools of Campbell's size because it doesn't mean diddly at the end of the season.
Win 20+ games (Would only be the second time in school history and a first if it happens during regular season play), finish in the upper third of the Big South, and post season will happen if you don't win your league. It won't be the NIT but you can almost bet CIT or CBI would be calling.

We lost to Houston Baptist. We should run clowns like that off the floor. Creighton I can live with but not Houston Baptist.
We better wake up a whole lot in a hurry. We had so so many opportunities to eak out a win and we just kept blowing each opportunity. Our defense was so porous last night it reminded me of the secondary on the CU football team. Since they play prevent pass defense all the time. Only thing it prevents is a win.
Looking forward to VT. Maybe we can get back on track and make it a good game.
