I haven't been to a game at Maryland and that's the biggest reason. The Terp fans there can thank their lucky stars for UGA and South Carolina because that's the only two fanbases I've ever seen that had less class.

Sh*t happens. Every fan base has a couple of complete idiots that attend games. I'm sure Pitt has some, even though I really haven't noticed myself.

Oh I agree. However we as a family went to three games vs UMD and someone acting like an idiot was the norm rather than the exception. That said, the Terp fans who I have met over the years at Clemson have been first class. It's something about "Gorgeous Prince Georges" that turns folks into jackasses.

PG is a hole. The only reason that I'd want to keep WVU on our schedule is to feel better about our fans. It's like watching 16 & Pregnant, you just feel better about yourself afterwards.

I've heard that about sporting events in general for UMD. Tradition of being poor losers.

Duke fan, huh?

Should it matter?

No, it doesn't matter, I just found it funny. 04-cheers

I went to a game at UMD and it wasn't too bad. Their fans stayed away from us for the most part. They really don't have much to be cocky about these days though.

I will absolutely cite and source anything provided either to this page or to another page. whatever you'd like.

feel free to PM me or reply here. I would really appreciate any insight or help!!

THANKS!

Of the nine ACC football venues I've visited, I'd highly recommend in order: Virginia Tech, Syracuse, North Carolina, Virginia, and Boston College. These schools have very attractive campuses with adjacent commercial areas featuring a variety of bars and restaurants. Each has a quality on-campus football stadium.

Bobby Dodd stadium at Georgia Tech is my favorite college football stadium because of its history, siting, architecture, and views. However the GT campus is nothing special and it is situated in a bad neighborhood.

NC State and Wake both have nice stadiums but they are located off-campus with little of interest within walking distance. Maryland has an on-campus stadium but its nothing special.

The absolute worst ACC football venue IMO is Miami's Sun Life Stadium. Big, sterile Pro stadium located literally in the middle of nowhere. I'll never go back.

I make a motion that we, as a collective fanbase, accept TexasMark's Tailgating Guide as the official "Tailgating and Stadium" guide for the ACCbbs board.

All in favor...?

We need some ACC reviews in it first.

In other posts, if I recall, TexasMark said he will be working on it. Mark is also the kind of guy that gladly accepts expertise from other fans. To all of you that have favored haunts before and after your games, send Mark a pm and give him the details.

For the record, Mark set up a Syracuse at Tulane tailgate in NO and had about 200 SU fans seated together in excellent seats (I would have been at the 50 but my daughter stole that seat).

Yeah, he did this for the Akron game in 2010, which was my first SU away game. He's pretty efficient at arranging these types of deals and also setting up hotel accomodations as well. He also set up a sinilar deal for the Inaugural Pinstripe Bowl. I agree with EcuAccever about setting up his tailgate guide as the official tailgate guide for the acc board. I'm sure he will be more than happy to work on an Acc edition

Carter-Finley (NC State) stadium in on-campus. It is on the Ag School campus. To be fair, it is about 2.5 miles to the closest dorm. The building directly across the street (Blue Ridge road) holds classes.

The NC Fairgrounds are directly across Trinity road. They have a decent flea market on Saturday mornings. There is usually some sort of exhibition. If you are lucky it might be the boat show or gun and knife show. If not it might be the baby swap.

The NC Museum of Art is 2 miles away. Crabtree mall is about 5 miles away.

Downtown Raleigh is about 6 miles and had a variety of museums, pubs, civic center, memorial auditorium and government buildings. The old capitol building is kinda cool. If you are and Andy fan you might recognize one or two other buildings.

Not exactly walking distance but all are less than 20 minute drives.

My Transistion isn't that smooth yet...I'll work on it. 03-lmfao

Shoot me a PM with your email and we'll start working on it. I'll make the rough draft and what I'll need is you to supply some of the local knowledge (or ask for inputs on your local NCSt boards)
