So the announcement was finally made (on a Wednesday, WTF happened to Tuesdays?), we know who is staying and who is going...for now. Boards of the schools leaving have been moved, along with the attached Moderators. Hopefully that will end the vitriol associated with being moderated by a fan of a school jumping ship.

What now?

New mods will likely be added in the future. I don't know when or who, but we'll get some more help here.

All CUSA mods will work to ensure that fans of schools in, and leaving for, other conferences behave themselves. The leash will be extremely short. Fans of existing and future CUSA / Alliance schools will have more leeway as this is their board, but try not to go too crazy.

The moves will not actually happen until 2013. Until that time, UH, UCF, and SMU will be competing in CUSA. What happens to them on the court, field, pitch, swimming pool, track, etc, is still relevant to the discussion here. What happens to their coaching staff, administration, facilities, etc, is still relevant to the discussion here until that time (unless directly related to the conference move).

Not every post about those schools is going to be moved to the BE board. If you don't like that the thread is here, don't post in it and it will fade away.

As always, if you have questions, concerns, or think we're doing a craptastic job, please let us know...in private.

Owlfamily and I know each other fairly well from modding the SBC board. We're both happy to be here and happy to help anywhere that help is needed.

The best way it can be explained is this:

SunBeltbbs = Wild West
BigEastbbs = Soviet Russia
CUSAbbs = Somewhere in the middle

Now (impeding BE split) is a great time to remember that CUSABBS is not a place to pimp you schools' to other conferences' fans. This includes CUSA member school fans pimping to the BE football leftovers or any non-CUSA fans pimping to current CUSA member fans.

Remember:

NO ONE ON THIS BOARD CAN VOTE TO ADD NEW MEMBERS TO THE CONFERENCES INVOLVED.

We are all equally powerless to change anything about this!
