Conference Opener Tonight
KSU tonight and Mercer Saturday. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't intend on seeing Belmont lose again until the NCAA tournament.

RE: Conference Opener Tonight
Hope you're right. If we play at or near our best we could win out. MTSU and Marshal will be very tough games. Also we will get everyone's best shot in the A-Sun.

Yes, Marshall had a good win over Cincinnati last week and MTSU has shown that they have a lot of talent on their team. We will also get Marshall after they get some real practice against two extremely talented teams (Syracuse and Iona).

Wow. Blowout.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but did Brandon Baker have a double-double tonight?

That gets me excited.

We are off to a good start. Kerron and JJ seem to be on their way to becoming our key players. Ian, however, has been rather quiet this season. I am also surprised Mick didnt have a bigger game from down low, I guess since we were hitting the three so we didnt really need to dump it inside.

Close, he went for 16 and 9 but also had a block, steal and 4 assists. Clearly his best game as a Bruin. He actually did a decent job on Cummings defensively as well. Didn't shut him down but made things harder on him. IF he can play like that consistently, he will make a real impact this year.

Clark has gotten off to a slow start this year. He had some good looks last night that he normally bury's. I think teams focus on him defensively and he doesn't normally force the issue and just lets the offense come in the natural flow which means he's not always involved. It seemed last night they forced the ball to him at the start of the second half to try and get him more into the flow of the offense.

Ike Turner was begging Belmont to show mercy after that beating. I don't know that Kennesaw could beat Ensworth or Father Ryan.

I don't care what two teams are playing but anytime a team has 30 assists to 4 turnovers they should be praised. Our two point guards combined for 17 assists and 2 turnovers - that's pretty incredible - especially for a conference game. Throw in the fact that we shot nearly 55% from the floor and out rebounded Kennesaw 39-22 shows a lot of fight and hustle even after the game got out of hand. Great way to start the conference for the Bruins!

I was really excited to see Brandon have a break out game. I hope he will continue to give us consistent play.

I'm looking forward to the game today against Mercer.
