Would you loose a year if signed but then sign with a DII school? You don't if you transfer down.

I'm pretty sure hal was talking about a commitment to the Naval Academy, not a commitment in the recruiting sense.

As a student athelete, I would guess the same would apply in that case also.

The recruits to the Naval, Army and Air Force academies are recruited as atheletes just as they would be if recruited to South. So, I would conclude that the commitment would be handled in the same way; up to and after the signing.

If after signing, a withdrawal and movement to another school, would cause the same loss of a year. Prior to signing, they can change commitments without the loss of a year.

However, the enrollment may have something to do with these atheletic commitments also. What? I'm not sure. Being the military the enrollment may cause a different commitment to occur.

At that point the athelete would also be under a Military commitment (Six Years?).

That's what hal was talking about. Nothing to do with recruiting.

I was. It was only tongue in cheek, however.

This is somewhat akin to texting. It's hard to get the real inference on most posts, unless it is spelled out word for word or you know the other person really well.

But I do appreciate the answer.
