RE: Free UAB Banner on WHNT!!
This was great. They used it to parlay into talking about treatment of UAH, but the fact it was covered is awesome. They also stated the movement was to split the school from the system. I sent an e-mail thanking them for the coverage and politely correcting them.

Please pardon grammatical errors. This was written quickly while I was thinking about it:

I just wanted to say thanks for the coverage of the #FreeUAB movement at the Iron Bowl today. As a two-time graduate of UAB it's nice to hear about stories affecting my alma mater. I would like to make one point, however. #FreeUAB was reported as a movement to split the university from the UA system, but it is actually more of a movement for more fair and equal treatment from the Board of Trustees, something UAB and UAH would both benefit from immensely. Thanks again for the coverage and keep up the great work!

Sincerely,

(LightEmUp70)

Yes, I saw the story on WHNT also. They also talked about how UAH supporters are upset with the way the board downgraded the hockey program there disregarding any input from the UAH community as well as forcing a president on them that they had no input on. We need to support the UAH people in their efforts as well. We have a common aim.

If Garrison is run off the same fate will await us.

Exactly why we need to support her and Mackin right now. This whole situation is very delicate.

Exactly. They'll put one of their drones in place as president and UAB Athletics will then completely be ran by UAT/BOT

Yep.

Blazer fans need to come together instead of tearing each other apart.
