Maybe, this being his last (hopefully) show, CNC will go all Tommy West on us and make some memorable diatribe.

With it being on am, most of us won't be able to hear it.

I would have listened but it would have required me driving for an hour to get within radio range.

Several years ago I wanted to listen to a basketball game, but could not pick it up at home.

I had to drive downtown to pick up the game & listen to it.

The signals of the AM stations in this town are terrible in the evening hours.

RE: Blazer Sportsline To Air On WJOX-AM 690 Wednesday
The last I heard, there are still no "CLEAR CHANNEL" AM radio stations in the entire state of Alabama. That means that as soon as the sunset time arrives (4:40pm today), all must cut their power to about 5,000 watts or less until the sun rises the next morning. Clear channel stations like WSM in Nashville can remain at full daytime power 24/7 as does KDKA in Pittsburgh and WWL in NOLA and a few others in selected cities.

The ability of WSM to remain at full power through the night is why the "Grand Ole Opry" became so widely popular as did the "Louisiana Hayride" on WWL from NOLA during the 1930s and 40s. When the REA began to spread power to rural homes during the New Deal, the radio was the main source of entertainment in such homes across the south, especially after dark.
