Hate to lose UCF and Houston...but that's life.

"Losing" SMU and gaining UNT is a plus for CUSA. UNT brings enthusiam and probably stronger fan interest and attendance and tv.

I look for TCU to start averaging crowds of 50,000+ next year and occasionally putting a game or two in Jerry's World and selling it out. Must be tough to be a Mustang fan and I think this is the reason for all the malaise around the SMU program.

LOL...I won't even bother giving you more of a response than LOL

2000 against Pitt was the year they took a ton, it was the Cyclones first bowl since 1978. Of course since 2000 they have gone to bowls in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, and 2009.

You're comparing a 4 year rebuilding program (SMU), to a program that's been on this course for 12-13 years now (TCU). Similar institution with similar advantages and disadvantages, only difference is they have been fixing their program much longer than us. If we still are in the shape we are in today, but in 8-9 years, then come find me and I'll concede our inferiority.

Plus, as we learned for years while playing at the Astrodome, people are less inclined to buy season tickets if there will always be extra individual tickets available. We don't have a fan base yet (and really, any time in the foreseeable future) that can fill 70,000 seats through thick in thin so the best way to build toward that is to take it a step at a time.

Enthusiasm and atmosphere appear not to be a problem for UTSA.

Don't bother responding to him. He literally thinks that fear is a big motivator. He thinks that SMU, UH, and UTEP fans oppose UTSA to CUSA because we are afraid they will steal recruits. That's ridiculous because UTSA in the WAC will be able to get the same recruits as UTSA in CUSA. SMU, UH, and UTEP fans oppose UTSA to CUSA because it's a joke of a school and they haven't proven over time that their program is worthy of inclusion in a conference like CUSA that actually has some pride.

TCU's membership in B12 insures SMU's inferiority for all time to come. Once SMU had the capacity to close the perception gap between itself and TCU....but no more.

THe presence of TCU and SMU in Dallas-Ft. Worth will always serve as a reminder of the mighty B12 and the futility of the "elite" BE.

TCU has not been in the B12 ever...and they are at a higher level than Tech and Baylor.

Tulsa fans are generally very respectful and probably agree with me in saying we disapprove of your statement and post. Houston should be favored, and rightly fully so. TU has its hands full. I hope for a good game and that the refs stay out, that there are no injuries, and it is a good hard fought contest.

Is UTSA the same start up team that is said to be giving 4 football tickets with a bucket of KFC chicken , and doing some other ticket give-a-ways and calling them "paid attendance"? Didn't they also have some free concerts, free food coupons and money give-a-ways to encourage people to go to the games? If so, that really, really skews the "attendance".

Tell me about it. What was the number they said they had Friday night after upsetting Okie State? 52,000?! GEEZ! Pretty good for a team that's not even going to a bowl game.

Iowa State is bowl eligible.

Wait. Really?! I didn't know that. I should've, but I didn't.

Yeah they beat Iowa and UConn OOC to finish 3-0 outside of Big 12 play. Shows just how deep the Big 12 is this year, with the exception of Kansas.

If Tech beats Baylor, then every team except Kansas in the Big 12-2 would be bowl eligible (9). That's why for bowl eligibility purposes, it would have been better for the league if Tech had beaten Missouri yesterday since Missouri plays Kansas next week given that it's unlikely Tech can win in Waco, though then again, they somehow came out on top in Norman. 01-wingedeagle

Also, Tech needs to win that game to keep their streak of bowl eligibility alive, as they have had a winning season and by extension bowl eligibility every year of the Big XII's existence.

I generally have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen with our games.

This one, I honestly have no idea. UH routing Tulsa, it being a close game, or TU routing UH - I don't see any one of those outcomes any more probable than the other.

Going to be an incredible game. Congrats to Tulsa on a great year.

Regardless of outcome, and I'm sure we'll hear it from the rest of the board, as they are openly rooting against us every week, but I hope it remains respectful between UH and TU fans. Both are great teams, but there can only be one CUSA West Champ.

Agree. They are very good sports on this board. My assessment is strictly based on how they man-handled UTEP yesterday. Those boys are huge and athletic as heck.

On the other hand, free chicken won't help SMU. And perhaps other schools, both CUSA and BE, should consider free chicken too.
