LSU, Nebraska, and ATM are higher profile games, so the networks think, and Beamer doesn't mind losing to them. He just hates losing to WVU, which has happened to him more than he cares to admit. VT lost as many games to WVU in The BEast as they have lost to ACC teams since their move...

VT was 10-5 against WVU in the Big East. VT is 55-12 in the ACC. Not sure what you are getting at. Nobody is afraid of WVU's team. They are afraid of getting killed attending a football game.

I've heard some rumors that Rutgers might replace BC as an annual OOC opponent now that BC will be a conference game for Cuse. Would be nice to keep the series alive.

Nebraska-OU is a shell of itself, bye A&M-Texas, so long Kansas-Missouri (a true statewide rivalry for both), see ya Pitt-Penn State (because PSU no longer wanted to schedule them a few years after joining the BiG), etc...

Am I missing any?

*NONE*

Teams have the ability to play their rivals OOC...

It wasn't due to realignment but Alabama vs Georgia Tech was huge at one point. They've met 52 times with a 28/24 'Bama advantage. For the 4 decades when Auburn and Alabama were barred from playing, this was one of the biggest rivalries. It's been 27 years since they last met when Ga State's current coach, Bill Curry led Tech to an upset of the Tide. They're supposed to do a home/home sometime this decade.

Rivalries really aren't that important for some schools. What's more important to them is making the BCS bowls. 03-banghead 03-banghead 03-banghead It's all about the benjamins!!!!! 03-shhhh 03-hissyfit 03-hissyfit

BTW, AU-Tenn was another rivalry lost.

Yeh, it's really cowardice not to want to get beat up over attending a game. I'm never going back to that shithole to watch a game.
