Per Big East Next Week is bad what with Thanksgiving and BlackFriday. The next week is no good what with season finale for many teams. The week after that is no good, Pearl Harbor day is December 7th. The next week will be the FCS semifinal games so can't take away from the FCS "thunder". Then there's Christmas... New Year's... Iowa Caucus... we'll have to figure a time that works... maybe the weekend after the Little League World Series.

This should be encouraging to the UCF folks. If the prez says its just a matter of time, that's probably a done deal. Good luck. I know this limbo is tuff stuff. I died awaiting on Mizzou and the SEC.

It's understandable that the Big East is wanting to make a huge splash with announcing 7 teams at once, but it is dragging big time. So can we officially confirm that these teams are going to the Big East, it's just a matter of when now? When you have the president of the school saying it's done, why are we really worried about a "formal" announcement?

i dont think it is so much announcing 7 teams but also making sure those seven teams are on board. like a platoon moves forward on the same cadence.

would rather have 7 weeks of good news instead of seven weeks of wondering. but alas

Maybe they will announce before Thanksgiving, that way familys have something to talk about that will not result in a fight during the dinner table-or talks about how uncle steve is now aunt judy.

If the Mizzou Prez had stood up in front of the cameras and said we are in the SEC, it's just a matter of time and a few details to iron out, I would have bought a case of Bud and started the celebration! I think the C-USA schools are in real good shape here...

Feel like its been pretty doom and gloom around UCF athletics lately. His comments were strategic for our fan base but I doubt we name anything on Thanksgiving week

I'm not sure it's incompetence. We know how long it took Missouri to get to the SEC. It cannot be easy coordinating the admission of six schools from different conferences, plus one independent with a TV contract.

The thing with Missouri and the SEC was, you knew there was progress. With the Big East there is no news of any progress.

There might have been progress but trust me, we didn't hear about it. False reports, a recalled official SEC welcome, and denial after denial from Mike Slive and the SEC...

I doubt this is anything the BE leadership could do anything about. Brian Murphy has tweeted that part of the hold up is ESPN refusing to give up some of the rights to BYU home games. BYU's break from the Mountain West was primarily due to a conflict with the BYU Network and Mountain Network/Comcast over rebroadcast rights. BYU was promised certain rights, but apparantly some of what they were promised was not properly spelled out in the TV contract. They spent several years trying to work through the issues, but everytime they thought they had an agreement, they would find that they did not. Finally, in frustration, BYU just left the conference. Given this history, BYU will move very slowly, cross every "t" and dot every "i". They will run the agreements by a battery of lawyers to look for holes and possible issues. They will want it all spelled out in specific language and will not trust any kind of verbal agreement. Cant say as I blame them. They were dumb not to do that the first time.

"It's better if Houston, SMU and UCF at least stay together." Interesting. The problems are clearly with the western contingent... and the eastern contingent is pretty frustrated for comments like this to be made publicly.

I just don't see BYU and AFA joining.... that means no Boise ST or Navy... If Marinatto wants the Big EAST to survive (and I don't mean as an AQ) He better plan on adding Temple and ECU as football only.....
