The B1G's motto has been to expand into a bordering state, with an AAU member. So, let's say the do that and take Kansas and Rutgers, both of which are in bordering states and the AAU.

The XII now has to expand again, after losing Kansas. West Virginia being on an island, throws a hissy fit to get UC, UL, and UM in the conference.

The PAC probably wouldn't expand. Although Boise State and UNLV would probably be the top two choices. Looking at what some of the PAC schools are ranked, I see no reason not to let Boise and UNLV in. Their academics could easily improve into being ranked in the 100's. Where most of the PAC schools are ranked, besides Washington and the Cali schools. Boise brings more football respect, and UNLV rings more basketball respect.

I don't even know what the Big East would do in this situation. The basketball schools eying the Big East name would probably refuse to expand.

I like your thinking on this.
