Inside info on BE expansion
I heard from an inside source that the BE expansion plan may not be going exactly as planned. Originally, they had a plan that they were going to execute in order to get their target teams. However, one (or more) of the teams has either caught a case of cold feet or is trying to negotiate some stipulations that weren't originally expected or thought of before. Also, it appears that other expansion candidates are coming on stronger than originally thought, and the BE leadership needs to take a step back and rethink their assumptions. At the end of the day, don't be surprised if the official invites are to schools that were considered as common sense adds. However, don't be surprised if one or more schools are very different than originally thought.

One thing is certain, the BE is planning on inviting schools to the conference, but what may never be cleared up is which schools were the replacement schools and which schools were the expansion targets. That's all I have right now.

Wrong. I don't make things up. This is the latest scoop that I got on what is going on with the BE so I thought I'd share. It's sad when a well respected poster is called out by a "noob"...

Great... now I guess Southern Miss's best rival is out the door too. I know ECU wants to go, but I really hate to see them leave. It's been a great rival even way before CUSA. This is getting downright depressing.03-weeping03-weeping03-weeping03-weeping

Just give MWC a AQ bid in next cycle and tell the BE theirs is safe too (the Cotton is coming aboard anyway). That will stop all this crazy cross-country stuff.

My sources have told me something similar. Expect something very unexpected (but makes sense) to come out very soon.

So you are saying the announcement isn't coming this week due to unanticipated circumstances? I guess next week the Big East will be surprised to learn that Thanksgiving is on Thursday and they don't want the hysteria of black friday shopping to overshadow their announcement.

Oh good lord. Please don't even mention us in the "list" - I've read enough slams against us to last a life time.

I guess that's common sense if you are not concerned with retaining the BCS bid.

You don't need an inside to see that the Big East expansion plan is probably DOA. Hell, an outside source (the Big 12) has been saying the same thing for the last couple of weeks.

And why was Blazr run off?

According to my sources the plan is still on only minus some obvious choices and with the addition of some not so obvious choices.

That's why San Diego State is being increasingly mentioned as "in the mix."

Can you explain to the rest of us what exactly Rutgers does or has done to help the BE keep their BCS bid...4 top 25 finishes and 7 bowls games in a 100+ years of football seems kinda of lacking...if nothing else it screams "has no right to look down on anyone"
