The north B12 teams need more teams to make a conference, but:

Colorado is picked up by the PAC ten

The Big10 decides it wants 12 teams and adds Missouri

this leaves Nebraska, K State, Kansas and Iowa State homeless (the Kansas and Iowa schools are small markets, while Nebraska apparently lets just about anyone in which most BCS conferences aren't fond of)

So here is the new conference formed from the BE and the B12 north leftovers:

Cincinnati
Iowa State
Kansas

East
WVU
Pittsburgh
Syracuse
UConn
Rutgers

Remove USF in the east, move UC over and add Memphis to the west. JMO.

I know us cards and barecats travel well, but isn't his strecthing it a mite bit?

Is travel really that much of an issue in a conference like that? Kansas and Kansas State are Midwest schools, as is Cincinnati. And Iowa resides in the Big Ten with Ohio State and Indiana, so travel can't be that bad. That being said, as appealing as that conference would be, no way on this planet anything like that ever happens.
