Thinking out loud:
- TxTech has 12 new players (8 HS and 4 TR) but their key addition is Billy Gillespie. Had trouble w Troy at Lubbock. Wish I could go to that game which will tell us a lot more about UNT than our previous games did.
- UTA hasn't played; preseason rating 3rd in west div of Southland.
- MissSt lost to home to a very good Akron team but they will be formidable. MSU very big.
- Texas is tough.
- Loyola Marymount has beaten UCLA. Has 13 returning players. They play MTSU today at home.
- Columbia played UConn tough at Storrs and has several players back from last season's 15 win team.

Getting 3 wins would be really really good. Losing to UTA would be really really bad.

I dunno. We might have you beat.

@ Mississippi St
@ LSU
@ Florida St
Southern Miss
UAB

We lost by 15 to Miss St. Rebuilding year for us but we have some talent. It'll interesting to see just how fast this Jags team can mesh.

The good part about your schedule is you have Southern Miss and UAB at home.

FL St. will be tough.

We have LSU at home this year. Should be a fun game as it should be Tony Mitchell's first full speed game. Looking forward to seeing how much LSU has improved from the beat down we put on them last year.

RE: MBB: OUCH !
TROY lost to TTech by 5 but went 18-32 from the free throw line 03-banghead.

Should have been a big win for TROY.

It was TROY and TTechs first reg season game w/ 2/3s of each roster that was not part of team last season. Tech will get better as the season goes along as will TROY.

IF NT is as good as has been advertised or even a little less this early in the season I see no reason why NT will not win against TTech.

FWIW I agree, but doesnt this fall under the "having to play a certain RPI level" thing?

Sounds like they're mocking the policy then. Play a few top 10 teams and you can play more 200+ RPI teams. If you've decided you're gonna lose to a mediocre team, you might as well take that loss against a great team.

I was told today by someone who should know that there are probably only two SBC schools in compliance with the scheduling initiative this season.

The way I understood it was the teams in the top 150 rpi from the previous season don't have to have a schedule in the top 150. That would mean UNT, FAU and maybe UALR don't have to have a top 150 schedule. Anyone know for sure?
