Listening to this game. Art Eckman gets way too excited. Gets me freaking out for nothing.

After hitting the first shot of the game, the Badgers have scored 16 straight. 16-3 Wisconsin.

RE: Gamethread: Wisconsin
I posted this on the ESPN gamethread for this one: "As a realistic KSU fan, this game is going just as I expected. With a new coach and a new system, all I'm looking to see is improvement game by game and increased continuity as we get ready for the conference schedule. With teams like Belmont in our division (lost to duke by 1 point the other night), we have to be ready. I would've hoped to see them score more than 5 points thus far."

currently 2-18 from the floor. I don't care if you're playing Reinhardt, you can't win a game shooting like that.

Undersized to play against Wisky, which is leading to tons of 2nd chances. Bad shooting game, but they are getting looks. Hopefully, they find their stroke and start knocking some of these open shots down in future games. Once you get behind Bo Ryan, it's extremely tough to climb back in it.

Belmont looked very tough last night. Honestly, I think this is going to be a long season. Just not enough depth to get into a running style of play and they aren't big enough to slow it down and bang. They're going to have to make shots as this offense will get them looks. Long way to go, but 8-9 wins may be considered a very successful season....

85-31. Second half was slightly better. Cummings was the only one that could really get anything going at all.

Coach Preston: [paraphrasing] "We need to continue to realize that this is a we game not a me game." He didn't sound too happy at all.

We have on size right now...everyone on Wisconsin is about 6'8". It was a matchup destined for embarrasment. Really don't need to take too much from this game other than we are right now where we expected to be. We are going to struggle mightily for a while. No need to get down. This is the process we chose...

Your actual division 2 talent when you entered the league was pretty good!

RE: Gamethread: Wisconsin
Our first year in the league was probably the least talented D1 team ever assembled. Winning 9 out of our first 10 in conference should be worthy of the hall of fame. Probably the best coaching job I have ever seen, and part of the reason I was such an Ingle fan.

PG: 5'8" Golden Ingle - had just spent the last two years on a Mormon mission during which he was not allowed to pick up a basketball
SG: 6'2" Ronell Wooten - was a half scholarship player as a freshman (hope scholar) who had played about 6 minutes a game the previous year
SF: 6'2" Brent Ragsdale - was signed in July as a juco transfer. Was heading to Clayton state (DII) if we didn't sign him. No other D1 offers.
PF: 6'2" Andre Morgan - freshman shooting guard that we played at the PF position. Still don't understand how we got away with that
C: 6'6" Ryan Nelson - weighed 170 pounds soaking wet, and matched up against Boomer Herndon in the first conference game. Held Boomer to 32 points and 18 rebounds...but a Kennesaw win!

Our talent is fine, they just need to get their heads out of their butts and buy into a coaching system. It was clear that the players tuned Ingle out, and Preston seems to be making efforts to force the team to follow his will. If they buy in we can compete in conference. If they don't we will be the cellar dwellars.

Bo Ryan disagrees with you,

“He’s a guy that can score against anybody. He could start for any team in the Big Ten or ACC, Cummings."

It is going to be rough the first few months, but they will gel eventually. There is a lot of talent on our team, just need to settle in to a new system.
