Not smack talk(god knows we would have been beaten worse), but I don't really believe in moral victories and even if I did, I don't think I'd consider beating a six touchdown spread a moral victory.

SBC scoreboard from Saturday:

WKU 9
LSU 42
21-9 late 3rd qtr against #1

MT 14
ULM 42
Down 35-0 early 2nd qtr.

Did you even read my post? Good grief man, all I said was losing by 33 to anyone is nothing to hang your hat on.

And as far as 21-9 late in the 3rd quarter, there are no pictures in the record books. Final score 42-9, that's all that matters. Troy actually almost beat LSU, who remembers that outside of Sun Belt fans?

LSU fans and any serrious college football fans that watched the game. Rest assured that WKU earned some respect yesterday and also put the conference in a better light. Yes, they took a beating overall but they played well for 3 quarters and people remember that "scrappy little Sun Belt team" and won't be so quick to dismiss them or the conference in the future. Games like this do a lot for the conference, even if they are bad losses.

The Troy game, I might give you but even then I'd say only serious LSU fans remember it. When we played Maryland in 2009, there were fans on their message board that had to be reminded that we had beaten them the year before.

I'm sorry, but being down 12 in the 3rd quarter is not enough for this game to register with anyone outside of the Sun Belt or even with LSU fans. Perhaps had they pulled within a score. Not taking anything away from Western, they scored nine points, we probably would have thrown nine interceptions. I just don't believe in gladhanding anyone for losing by nearly five touchdowns, regardless of competition.

Every time they showed Willie Taggart, all I saw was Dave Chappelle.

Your reading comprehension is phenomenal. I've emphasized several times that we would have done worse.

I fail to see how the quality of my team's performance has any influence on my ability to have an opinion. Did I say WKU sucks? Did I say MT would have done better? All I said was losing by 33 regardless of circumstance is no accomplishment. My team's performance has no bearing on the situation whatsoever, we could have lost by 100, wouldn't mean I couldn't have an opinion on this game.

You're right.

And the two games have nothing to do with one another.

You ever criticize food at a nice restaurant? The chef is probably a better cook than you are, doesn't mean you don't know whether or not the food he cooked for you tastes good.

Western Kentucky is a better team than MT this year, you played a better game against LSU than we would have, doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on whether or not a team should be congratulated on covering a six touchdown spread.

WKU covered. Personally I think that palying well for 3 quarters has a small effect on perception. We disagree and that's fine.
