Curse of the Big XII - Addition by Subtraction
Thought it might be fun to look at the Big XII defectors and defector wannabes to see what is happening to their 2011 seasons.

Colorado-PAC 12 - The Buffs seem to have taken their lackluster football program from the Big XII to the PAC 12 without a hiccup. They are 1-9 overall and 0 for 6 in their new conference. How many seasons will it take them to win a Pac 12 game?

Nebraska-Big 10 - Ranked as high as 10 this past week but now has lost to Northwestern ????. Current Big 10 record is 3-2.

Texas A&M - SEC - The Aggies highly touted "last season" in the Big XII has turned into a major bust. They are limping into the clubhouse with a 3-3 conference record, 5-4 overall. Will they make a bowl?

Missouri - SEC - I really don't know how Mizzou expects to compete in the SEC but I say, good luck to them. They are currently 2-4 in Big XII play and just lost to Baylor.

So, do the witches in Austin and Norman automatically put a curse on any team who defects?

How about the additions?

West Virginia - 6-3 overall with a dissapointing loss to Louisville this past weekend. Still, another bowl game on the horizon for the couch burners.

TCU - 7-2 overall against some rather suspect competition but hey, a win is win. 4-0 in MWC play but a big showdown with #5 Boise St. looms. Frogs are a lock to make their 7th straight bowl appearance.

Maybe there really is addition by subtraction.

RE: Curse of the Big XII - Addition by Subtraction
Nebraska is still a better football program than anyone who is being added. When you line up their national titles, heisman winners, amazing fan base, and generally above average to great football team then you have something that is tough to replace.

TAMU has a large fan base, but if we are talking football performance then TCU and WVU are upgrades. TAMU seems to just sputter around in mediocrity despite having good talent.

Colorado's football program has fallen off the face of the earth, and Missouri has been solid. I do believe though that based upon conference titles across all sports that Missouri was/is the worst athletic department in the Big XII.
