Quote:The two sports most likely to be impacted by the move are men's and women's basketball. Here is a look at how those conferences compare (along with a few other leagues) based on 2010 rankings from RealTimeRPI.com. There are 31 conferences overall.
• Big East (16 teams in 2010): No. 1 in men's basketball; No. 3 in women's basketball
• Big Sky (9): No. 24 in men's basketball; No. 24 in women's basketball
• Big West (9): No. 26 in men's basketball; No. 19 in women's basketball
• Mountain West (9): No. 4 in men's basketball; No. 12 in women's basketball
• West Coast (8): No. 14 in men's basketball; No. 15 in women's basketball
• Western Athletic (9): No. 13 in men's basketball; No. 13 in women's basketball
Should work perfect for them.. pick any of the above, and with the extra $$ they bring in for football dominate and go to NCAA every year.

Not sure Kustra would want to put non-football sports in a WAC that's about to lose SJSU, USU and possibly NMSU to the MWC, and LaTech to CUSA. The MWC could also pick up Seattle as a non-football member to balance Hawaii. That would leave the WAC with Idaho, Denver and three Texas schools.
MWC won't take non-football playing members. I understand also that it's better for scheduling to have Hawaii as football only. Craig Thompson has been adamant that Boise State can't leave its other sports in MWC. Seattle is way outside the footprint, wouldn't expect MWC to take em.

I think it would take heavy lobby effort from ND, big east hoop Catholics + espn to get boise into the wcc. My guess is its big sky for them if they go football only in the big east but i could see the wcc bring in AFA to get to 10. Big sky or wcc, does it really matter for boise, the main goal is big east football if they want to make the move.
