Orange Bowl vs. Virginia Tech

My Predicted Big East Overall and Conference Records
Louisville 10-1/Big East 6-1
Pittsburgh 9-2/Big East 6-1
West Virginia 8-3/Big East 5-2
Syracuse 7-4/Big East 4-3
UConn 7-4/Big East 3-4
Rutgers 5-6/Big East 3-4
South Florida 4-7/Big East 2-5
Cincinnati 3-8/Big East 1-6

UC not so much dogging you because I expect you to bounce right back but you are completely rebuilding right now. USF you time will come in 2006, right now IMO you are still very young but very talented. Syracuse could surprise and have a better record then 7-4 because the talent is there. It is up to the players and Coach Robinson to bring it out.

Anything can happen during a season, and UC has a lot of talent, it's young, but talented, so anything can happen during a long season. It's going to be hard to make a lot of predictions this season.

I think we'll be tough at home, and struggle on the road. We will have a good running game and I think we will be solid defensively, but QB and receivers are a big question mark. I think we are better in an underdog role, and this year the expectations are modest, so we could surprise. I think we will pull a big upset of VPI at home - I really think expectations are too high for them. We should have beaten them down there last year, a blocked field goal run back for a touchdown was the difference in the game. I don't see us losing to them at home. I think we have a couple dangerous road games in the BE, Rutgers, USF, Cincy and Syracuse. We will be VERY fortunate to win all of them, and I don't think we will be that fortunate. I see one loss, possibly two, and I wouldn't be shocked by 3. I'm going to be fairly optimistic here, and assume that our running back can carry the load until the passing game catches up, but I wouldn't be shocked with anything from 4 - 7 to 9 - 2. Should be an interesting season.

Date Opponent Location Score
09/03/2005 Syracuse Away 21-17
09/10/2005 Wofford Home 48-13
09/17/2005 Maryland Away 6-21
09/24/2005 East Carolina Home 31-24
10/01/2005 Virginia Tech Home 20-16
10/08/2005 Rutgers Away 14-23
10/15/2005 Louisville Home 21-35
10/22/2005 South Florida Away 28-23
11/02/2005 Connecticut Home 31-17
11/09/2005 Cincinnati Away 17-14
11/24/2005 Pittsburgh Home 27-20
8-3 / 5-2

I need to look at the other NBE schedules before I can make an "official" prediction :)

I really hope I am wrong but I can't see Louisville winning in Morgantown this year. Even though WVU will be young you guys have a lot of talent and really you might have help yourself by getting rid of players like Chris Henry.

Plus you should have the best D in the Big East this year.

west va may have the best def in the be, but m. bush is a load and i'm sure wv will get a healthy dose of your running game to offset the homefield adv. just make sure you win your ooc's, it wouldn't look too good if one of the best teams in the be loses to middle of the pack pac 10 and acc teams.

as for usf we're probably still one year away from being a dangerous team in the big east but i'm hoping a few teams will underestimate us and we'll be able to squeak out a few wins, we have a new qb and off coordinator in place, but we'll only go as far as our defense takes us this upcoming season.

penn st - w 21-17 (first step towards retirement in happy valley for joepa)
famu - w 42 - 7
ucf - w 28 - 3
miami - L 35 - 10
louisville - L 28 - 14
west va - w 14 - 10 (homecoming)
pitt - L 21 - 10
rutgers - w 27 - 24
syracuse - L 21 - 14
cinci - W 35 - 7
uconn - W 28 - 14

7-4 and our first bowl game at champs sports bowl

I think you are being too top heavy with your records although I agree with your standings.

Louisville will have a great chance at an undefeated season this year and making a lot of noise nationally.

That said, if they don't dominate the conference, the standings will be like this...

Louisville 8-3, BE 4-3
Pittburgh 7-4, BE 4-3
West Virginia 6-5, BE 4-3
UConn 6-5, BE 4-3
Rutgers 5-6, BE 3-4
South Florida 5-6, BE, 3-4
Cincinnati 4-7, BE 3-4
Syracuse 4-7, BE 3-4

I don't like predictions. I'm not Ms. Cleo. :tasha: If you offered me 6 wins and a bowl bid, I'd take it and run. :drag:
