Why the hate towards UH? Did UH personally prevent ECU from being selected by an AQ conference? All I see lately is hate spewing from ECU & USM fans towards UCF, UH, & SMU. *NEWS FLASH*, our 3 schools had nothing to do with you being excluded! If anything your venom should be directed at people that actually prevented you from being in an AQ conference or the ones that looked over you. I don't see any fans of UH, UCF, or SMU gloating about it, it is mostly the contrary. Rather all I see are fans of USM & ECU bashing the ones that got selected.

ECU of all schools, who has been applying to the BE for years and had their senators/governor draft a letter for their inclusion recently. I respect ECU, but you're a damn joke b0ndsj0ns.

You created a new username just to post that?

Yes, I have been a lurker for a couple years but I registered to post that.

Well I'm glad that I'm important enough for you to register just to talk smack. Good for you jacka*s.

How is that talking smack? It's the truth, you're the immature one going around throwing a temper tantrum.

Oh wait.

Did Sumlin coach Kolb?

IIRC, Briles and Kolb left together.

So Sumlin - Keenum = bad football?

I don't think that at all. I'm a big fan of Sumlin & Keenum. They are both a couple of class acts from where I sit.

I like them too, but the fact is that Sumlin is a great coach with Keenum playing QB, but if you take Keenum out (like last year), they aren't so good.

We were beating them like a rented mule until Keenum found his groove in the 4th Quarter. Without Keenum, I think we would have beat them by 4 TDs this year.

CUSA rebuilt itself before. There is no reason why this round of realignment should be any different.

Do you add teams to get back to 12? Adding more potential to the league can set the path for an eventual CUSA AQ bid.

I'd get rid of the Alliance and set about building the 7th best conference in the country. CUSA is at a GREAT competitive advantage to your closest competitors for that 7th spot!! The reason being is that the Western based MWC doesn't have ANY good options to replace Boise State and Air Force.

OTOH, CUSA has NO SHORTAGE of good candidates to fill the 3 spots that are being vacated. CUSA could grab a significant share of Florida with FAU-FIU, or grab some tradition rich MAC programs, Miami or Ohio, or grab some highly publicized upstarts, UTSA, UNCC, or fill in the geography with decent regional additions, La Tech, UNT, ODU...

It's a cant lose for CUSA. That 7th spot is all but assured. CUSA can even raid the MWC if done right.

OTOH, CUSA could stay at 9... There are advantages (bigger slice of pie). However, there MUST be assurances that teams like RICE, UAB, and Tulane will INVEST in their programs to take up the slack. They have been dogs for far too long and are as much to blame as anyone for the departing teams. I see signs of a greater commitment from Tulane (w/ their coaching search) and UAB (w/ stadium proposals) than Rice. IMO, Rice only has themselves to blame for potentially being the last SWC refugee in non-BCS. It is what it is..

Perhaps the Alliance can still work!!? Make it a full merger and claim that 7th spot by the mere subtraction of your closest competitor. How cool would it be to see Memphis, UNLV, New Mexico, UAB, UTEP, and SDSU all in the same basketball league?

Or... A group of schools can break away at an airport and craft a leaner version of The 7th Best Athletic Conference...

Lots of exciting times ahead... The ball is in CUSA's court...

Got to get practiced up on the moving and closing clicker in the event that invites actually go out. Will get ugly 'round here for a while.
